dad calls me up, age 23, was wrapping up college, hadnt seen him in person in about 6 years since our once a month visits had stopped. he was pretty much a stranger to me, but we were kind of trying to stay in touch, but not really.
anyways so he calls me up:
"What the fuck is your problem user?!" young me: "Huh, what do you mean?" He sort of goes into this rant, like Jones vid, kindah. Says "You never Had a girlfriend in high school, you never had a date, you never had a girlfriend in college. Are you Gay?!"
Now, no one had seriously accused me of being gay as an insult since high school, and it's been a few years. So, i am kind of thrown off. And, they i start laughing, like super hard, uncontrollably. Realizing this is one of those after school TV special type moments where your parent accuses you of being gay.
Anyways so he says "whats so funny?!"
And, i say "GOD, i wish i was gay, it would be a 1,000 times less embarrassing than what i am"
him: "what the fuck do you mean?"
me: "im too ugly to get a girl friend, every girl i tried to ask out in high school and college rejected me. The last woman i tried to ask out told me i was the ugliest man that she'd ever seen in her life, and she was insulted i was trying to speak to her, let alone think she would go out with someone as ugly as i am"
Him: "(long pause) i dont want to talk to you anymore, (hangs up)" (long time ago)
I can only assume he did think i was actually gay, and was calling to disown me for being a fag, and learning the truth, well, how you gonna explain to people your kid is too ugly to get anyone, well he got that ugly face from you. Last i heard, he pretends i dont exist
