Ford brofist. I always yield to Fords, hope you do the same.

09 dodge charger
06 ford f150

both automatic, although I know how to manual and I'd rather manual. I like the charger quite a bit, the f150 is more for just moving stuff around but its good for that.

Really nice car. Not my first but the most reliable. Take me everywhere and it's all terrain too. Gotten me through winter storms, ice, dry sun, heavy rain, you name it. Looking for a new car since this leaks water through the roof and floor when it rains.

Had one exactly like this for 2.5 years and just sold it. For a 95 it rode very well and was mechanically sound. Shame the radio did not work but this car could take a beating and was very tough. Hope it does good for the next owner. Looking for a new car now

1995 Toyota Camry LE with 410,000km (254,000 miles). Isn't fast, isn't particularly good on gas (4-pot gets less on the highway than my friend's 2015 V6), steering is cloud-light but vague, not at all sexy and utterly forgettable to drive. BUT, it is very good at doing one job and doing it well. It is a car. It starts and drives. On cold winter days it protests slightly, but comes to life nonetheless, because it must. Its one purpose in life is to start, run, and drive with no drama and no bullshit. Not ONCE has this car, as a mechanical entity, ever let me down. My life is a mess and filled with never-ending doubt and uncertainty, but at least I can rely on my Camry. Did I mention it's rust-free?

My uncle had a '95 V6 with the manual transmission. As a kid I thought it was basically a Ferrari with four doors. Had leather and everything too. Rusted pretty bad though, my aunt forced him to give it up in 2007 because a hole had formed in the floor.

i was expecting far more bus passes and shitboxes Jow Forums, i am disappoint.

got a 2015 Kia Optima SX Turbo a couple months ago and its a solid, well equipped ride to fight traffic in. places like /o/ like to meme about Kias but i think people had bad experiences with their mom's old base Spectra and have avoided them ever since.

They don't "meme" about them, they're shit cars and always have been.

My mom bought a 2011 Optima with the 2.4 litre GDI engine. She decided on the Kia because the equivalent Toyota Camry and Honda Accord didn't have as many "features". Never mind that things like plastics and suspension bearings wore out unreasonably quickly. In 2015, when the car was a little over 4 years old, the engine seized due to oil starvation. The Kia dealer and Kia corporate both tried to deny the warranty claim because the oil was not changed by a "certified Kia authorized retailer" and thus fault must lie with the mechanic. It took a threat of a lawsuit to get them to replace the engine. Shortly after that we ditched the car. Turns out that oil starvation is actually a common issue with these shitboxes because Kia-Hyundai fucked up the manufacturing process. The Theta engine is now the subject of a massive recall and class-action lawsuit. When do you last remember even someone as shitty as Volkswagen fucking up so catastrophically?

Outside of catastrophic failures they're still shit cars. A friend of mine has a 2007 Ford Fusion and a 2008 Kia Sorento. You would think the American car is shit, right? But you're mistaken. Engine, transmission, body, interior, everything is fine at 170,000 miles. The Kia, which is a year newer with 30,000 FEWER miles, is rusting, has a vibration which cannot be repaired, eats through suspension components like a kid through cinnamon toast crunch, has a completely worn-out interior, a slipping transmission and has a CEL that won't turn off. It's just crap and tons of people complain about general durability. You think a 2008 Rav4 would be going to shit like that? Or even a 2008 Escape? Equinox?

/o/ isn't memeing anything, you got meme'd. And it's a shame, because I think the Optima is a great looking car.

1988 Nissan 300zx. Super fun car. Like flying a spaceship at night, I have the electronic dashboard.

98 GMC Yukon
2000 S10 Xtreme

I love the Yukon, has a engine with 50k miles on it and a tranny with 10k. Body has 247k though so I'm having to deal with suspension issues and steering box issues. But overall fukken great vehicle. Only downsides gas mileage.

The S10s a piece of shit thats reliable and is loud as shit. But it's low miles and runs great.

Shitbox e36 base

the issues with the Theta II engine stopped with the 2014 model, manufacturing improvements after that fixed the problem, which is why you havnt seen any recalls since then.

im not particularly worried about mine, being a CPO car the powertrain is covered until 2025 and all you need to do is take it back to the dealer and get an oil change on time (50% off at your dealer).

a guy i work with had a similar problem to your mom with his Elantra, the engine seized after some crank failure and Hyundai refused to replaced the engine because he had gone over 5000 miles without an oil change.

This POS, I miss my volvo station wagon
Fun cars, My hands are to big to do much work on the turbo versions though
