I spend so much time on youtube, I have watched years worth of content. I'm trying to grow my own channel (I won't link it here)

Do any of you know any tips or tricks to get more views? I'm at about 200 subscribers, averaging about 25-30 views per video. Which sucks especially since when I had 25 subs, I was getting like 20k views.

>I make custom thumbnails
>My content is all original
>I use tags
>I actually edit my videos.

All I can advise is don't do intros.

I don't have an intro. Occasionally my 'logo' appears over the video for approximately 1 second with a stinger (a sound fx for brand recognition) it's non intrusive and happens naturally.

what kind of vids do you make?

To be a good promoter of content one must have tact, taste, timing, yet leave your shame at the door (tactfully). We have no clue what to give critical advice to. Stop pussy-footing and link your damn channel, you bashful retisent attention whore. You know you want to.

The majority of my channel are video games such as, Dead by Daylight, and the new DeathGarden game.

I defintley have left my shame at the door. The couple friends that I have made jokes at first, but now are asking me to help them launch their channels. Which I can't do because mine isn't even successful. I'm not doing this for money or any of that, I really like all of us here just want to connect to people.
>, you bashful retisent attention whore. You know you want to.

You're absolutely right but wouldn't it be worse if people knew I came here?

Reposted because I somehow took off my trip.

clickbait niggas all day

I've kinda tried that, but without, 'getting out there,' first how can you clickbait?

Plus I don't want to be too deceiving. People should watch my channel and know exactly what they're going to be in for.

I love to talk, I love to explain things thoroughly and throw in my 2cents
I want to have that experience with youtubers I have. You know the one.
The one where you watch the same guy every weekend for years because it feels like you have friends. The kind of experience that lets you in on the joke while others have no idea.

Well for one your audio is not so good. Get a better mic, like a directional mic/boom mic. You need more enegy and develope your characters giving them a hook or edge. Also observe successful content you admire and break it down to adopt some of their aesthetics. I'd say tou could imediately work on editing with multiple camera angles, zooms, cut takes etc. just to start. Watch MDE

>Well for one your audio is not so good. Get a better mic, like a directional mic/boom mic.

The Deceit gameplay video had terrible audio because I didn't use my proper microphones. I do have proper mics but I tend to use the rode mic I bought for my Camera. If it's really that detrimental to the camera I'll set up better audio.

>You need more enegy and develope your characters giving them a hook or edge

I can defintley work on that. I've already got stupid hair, a mustache and now I'm doing this weird Cult Indoctrination shit at the ends of my videos.

I also tend to wear the same outfit(s) like a cartoon character so I'm more easily recognized. I put a lot of thought behind the psychology of my 'persona'

> Also observe successful content you admire and break it down to adopt some of their aesthetics.

This is also true, I've been studying some of the bigger guys. If you watch my first four videos compared to my last four you can see a MAJOR change in the editing. I picked up the style from PewdiePie truthfully because I don't watch gaming channels.

>I'd say tou could imediately work on editing with multiple camera angles, zooms, cut takes etc. just to start. Watch MDE

I actually just lost my job and can't afford to buy another camera to do that. I defintley will once I've got the expendable income.

>Watch MDE
I have for years. Their editing is so good but so niche, my audience wouldn't understand.

S o y content is out faggot

Please do link your channel, I wanna see it.

I made a video about Randy Stair within days after it happened, 90k views.
I made a video playing Undertale within days after its release, 150k views.
I made a video making fun of ANTIFA mugshots within days after they were arrested, 100k views.
I made a video series about SCP Containment Breach at the peak of its popularity, 30k views because Youtube put an age-restriction on it because my friends wouldn't stop saying nigger constantly.
I made a video making fun of a guy's sonic fart porn collection that he drew with a clickbait title, 150k views
I made a video called "The Most Horrifying Doom Map" or something, 120k views and half those people are fucking pissed at me.

Do the math man, it's not fun it's fucking grating and I just vlog and record games with friends.

Hey don't be pessimistic, if you allow you style and artistic expression to evolve, so may your audience. You are what you attract. Don't be affraid, you could gain so much. You really need to think about what your dream channel is, then don't hold back.

N O S O Y B O Y H E R E
I harass girl gamers when I get the chance, and I mocked the whole bullyhunters thing. Despite my blonde hair I'm conservative as fuck.

I linked it here youtube.com/c/blackandblonde

are you Mr.Daggers? Their has got to be more to it than that, tags and what not. How do you pick what to talk about before it becomes trending? If it's so grating why do you do it? The money?

>You really need to think about what your dream channel is, then don't hold back.
user thank you so much for the inspiring words. I don't want to be bogged down as just a gaming channel. Like I said earlier I love to talk and explain things which is why I was making some, "learn savage japanese" videos. I just want to talk and be a friend to everyone I guess. That's my dream, to have people look to me for kinship and knowledge. to be that every friday friend.

the video game scene is very saturated, sure there's a lot of people who've made it big off of video game content on youtube. But that inspires others to follow in their footsteps, even if you're content is a cut above the rest you may never find success because no one is going to see your videos.
that being said the best thing I think you could do is self promotion, let people know you're out there don't be annoying or spam but positng a link to your channel every once in while doesn't hurt.

>that being said the best thing I think you could do is self promotion, let people know you're out there don't be annoying or spam but positng a link to your channel every once in while doesn't hurt.

But where would I post it? I've posted here before but no one goes to it, and I don't browse reddit. Even still I heard the people of Reddit are clicky as fuck and don't like people coming in to promote. At least with Jow Forums I've been browsing since I was 14-15.

make social media accounts like a twitter or facebook and promote your channel using them. It's not going to be easy, but you have to start somewhere with it.

yeah Mr. D I kind of knew what I was doing would get tons of views, I don't know sometimes I just felt like it and it was an easy opportunity to get attention but if I had to do that for a living I'd rather just kill myself
I just like my small circle of internet friends I've made I don't care about being popular but if I exploded in popularity one day I guess I'd laugh and try to monetize
my youtube channel got me raided by the FBI and questioned by my employers like 2 days ago which was funny, I don't regret the things I've done

you just choose what's clickbaity, "Doom - The most Horrifying map" was obviously going to end up on youtube's recommended feed and that's where the big shit explodes

just chase trends and make your videos distributable with a title and thumbnails
it's fucking garbage

I don't even have a facebook for myself I never have. Youtube is legitimately my only social media, no instagram, no facebook, twitter or any of that other shit people my age use.So I have virtually no audience on those platforms. Would that mean I'm completely out of the running? -- and if I created a twitter now, how do I gain followers? Wouldn't I have to learn how to go viral on twitter as well? This seems like a self-defeating purpose.

>just like my small circle of internet friends I've made I don't care about being popular but if I exploded in popularity one day I guess I'd laugh and try to monetize

you're not monetized now? Is it because of your content? I try to do a bit of self-censoring so I can get, 'promoted' in the future.

>just chase trends and make your videos distributable with a title and thumbnails
it's fucking garbage

Hm, I could try it but I don't see it as something I'd be personally good at. As for thumbnails, don't take this the wrong way but I do think mine are better than yours. However you've got the views, so should I not work as hard on them?

Attached: comparison.png (1856x696, 1.22M)

youtube success is like the lottery: some people have won it sure, but the odds are stacked waayyy against you.

>twitter
I don't even give a shit about that, they'll ban you for being a suspected Nazi at some point. I didn't have more than 100 followers.

I monetize the big videos, if it has under 1k views then what's the point. Although this causes me to miss the initial pump in popularity on shit like SCP CB.

>thumbnails
No I hardly ever make them, look at the SCP CB videos I made where I actually gave them thumbnails that were just shit I dug out of the meme folder, I'm convinced that helped.

The majority of my videos are just for the tiny circle of people I know online now because they just like it.
The game videos I have with friends, that's legitimately for our own entertainment. We tend to pull them up and laugh at them occasionally.
Was thinking about making a compilation of all of those to make it digestible and attractive to people outside of our circle.
That's what I observed other streams doing is they make highlight videos to get you interested in watching the long shit, you could do that too.

Couldn't tell you. I've tried colorful thumbnails, trending tags, description keywords, nothing really works unless you get lucky. I put a ton of work into my videos & literally only /v/ & Jow Forums subscribe to me.

>That's what I observed other streams doing is they make highlight videos to get you interested in watching the long shit, you could do that too.

Haha I do that every time I livestream.

I'm convinced you have an RSS Feed to have any thread with the word Youtube show up when you're browsing. I love your content Kenny but you have almost 7x the audience I have and you're totally hijacking my thead lol.

Do you post on twitter/facebook/insta and all of those, or is it a waste of time to invest in that.

Plus I think we're all already subscribed to you here so you're probably not going to get any new subs from this thread.

Here's an example of a thumbnail I made to illustrate, this shit actually turned heads. I got about 50k views and then Kiketube shut it down and gave me a strike.
I reuploaded it to an alt and it got 9k views fast and they put it in a limited state.

When I feel like it I can get things done, I just absolute don't.

Attached: cybernazi thumb.jpg (1920x1080, 1.3M)

This fat faggot literally jumps in on every youtube thread. fuck off with your advertising.

>I'm convinced you have an RSS Feed to have any thread with the word Youtube show up when you're browsing. I love your content Kenny but you have almost 7x the audience I have and you're totally hijacking my thead lol.
You're all right man. Let me see if I can add you onto the side of my page as a featured channel. That might help you out a little.

Attached: Nothing.png (344x290, 163K)

Haha Kenny. Believe it or not I'm actually doing an Anime review and shout out your channel in it. Hopefully you get a few of my loyal subscribers in there.
I appreciate you just saying that even if you don't actually do it. It's cool to chat with someone you admire.

Also how do I put certain channels on my sidebar, because it recommends channels I don't even subscribe to nor want to promote.

I can see why they shut it down lol. That's insane that it jumped back up in views on a second channel. Was it all people who saw the first or all new viewers?

I'm trying to add your channel but it's not working. Do I enter UCLTyZbnEmA113uEM4hlzRpw (from your channel address) or Black and Blonde? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Jow Forumstards looking it up, the guy who made the game and the guy who made the music both shilling me after I talked to them on twitter, recommended feed, I'm not sure what caused the alt to rapidly get views

I have no idea.
youtube.com/channel/UCLTyZbnEmA113uEM4hlzRpw is the direct link
or you can do youtube.com/c/blackandblonde

Either way man I seriously appreciate it.

Ok it's up. Also for the love of god, if you do an anime review, please know what you're talking about. At the very least look up who directed it, what works & what doesn't, etc. I know you're trying to branch out but after you think you're done with it, give it like a week & then come back to it to add some finishing touches. You can come up with a lot of ideas when you're going for a walk or about to go to sleep when you're mind's wandering.
TLDR: Don't force your videos & try to do a little research. Hope that helps.

Normally I write the idea for the video and compile clips and everything day of the recording, edit it then push it out either that day or the day after. I will absolutely not let you down. Would you be okay with me sending you an unlisted link to the video when it's finished for your critique? I know that's a lot to ask so feel free to say no.

Either way, I won't let you down. I was going to talk about Megalo Boxing, but I've got to do some research on Ashita no Joe.

>I'm at about 200 subscribers, averaging about 25-30 views per video.

I have the opposite problem, I average about 1000 views a video but nobody sticks around to SUBSCRIBE

>day of the recording
In my experience that's a horrible idea because it puts a lot of pressure on you, but I'm doing analysis & review videos so my process might not work. Basically I just watch a show, & anytime a thought randomly enters my head I pause, write it down as a bullet point, then come back to it later when I want to write the script. Any time I have even a slight idea or comment pop into my head I jot it down & when I have enough I try to put a script together.

what is your content about. what kinda editing

I think i'm going to try that instead. I started that way with flashcards when I would write about new info for a game that wasn't out yet (I had to be the first you know) but then bigger youtubers came in and I had to move even faster.

Since the show isn't completed yet I was thinking about holding off. But maybe I shouldn't.
I'm going to give it another rewatch and do exactly that with notes.

I don't know which one of you is anna on Youtube but your comment was extremely helpful. Thank you.

>I had to be the first you know
If that doesn't work, you could always talk about things that old that NOBODY knows about like me. You know what they say, don't give people what they want, instead give them what they didn't KNOW they wanted.

[that feel when two youtubers you actually sub to acknowledge one anothersuper weird ya guys are both here found kenny on a /v/ thread a year agofound blacknblond months ago when deathgarden was announced.
