Decided to make another thread because it seems like a lot of robots are car dudes.
LONELY DRIVER GENERAL /ldg/: FEELS MOBILE EDITION
What do you robots drive?
2002 Civic. Caring about which car you have is a waste of time.
This bad boi
Named him il duce
Ey man keep these threads going
How about some lonely driving tunes
youtube.com
Nb2 Miata but mine isn't not yellow :(
>il duce
But duce is slang for shit in english, why would you do that?
Unironically a Gen 2 Twingo.
hon hon It's shit
Actually it was a typo its actually lil'duce.
Il duce was benito Mussolini's nick name which translates to "The leader" which is true because I am king of the backroads.
Also Mussolini was named after a Mexican communist and my car was made in mexico
Miatas are one of my top 5 favorite cars. It is /ourcar/.
I grew out of eurobeat and I prefer italo disco desu
youtube.com
youtube.com
etc.
My brother is leasing a 2er BMW but I prefer my baiku
That wasnt my point, you essentially nicknamed your car "lil shit", unless that was intentional, but if it was youre retarded
stop bullyng him >:(
Fight me on the touge nerd
I honestly dont like any bmws besides the 1, 2, and z series. I like small lightweight cars
Anybody here have any experience with a fox body mustang?
There's an '85 gt with 96k miles for sale near me.
What should I look out for?
I've got a '14 wrx with a cat-back. Sounds great
Look out for the front strut towers. They tend to rust.
>tfw no right hand drive Fox Body
Debating becoming a yank just for muh muscle cars
You should also check out french house music(late 90s/early 00s disco music)
>no money for tires
>no money for brakepads
>still rip the tougue at night on the reg
Fuck.
Also it's going to snow this Sunday, pretty exited.
Atleast worn tires perform better. Just don't go out in the rain and pretend you have semi slicks on
'86 Toyota MR2, black.
All those nights cruising around on lonely highways, listening to vaporwave and synthwave mixes on shitty cassettes I made myself just for the true old school retro feeling. Lighting a cigarette with the old school cig lighter (they barely make those anymore). The little robotic varuuum-tish sound that the headlights make when they pop up. The feel of the road as there's no power steering, no traction control, everything's mechanical like a real car and not like one of those modern computer cars.
No other feeling like that in the world, man. It's one of those things you can just do all night as long as you got gas money.
Sounds amazing dude
Duce =/= Douche
You fucking retard.
>tfw gas is too expensive to go on extensive night drives
ffs
He's actually thinking of "deuce," as in "I gotta drop a deuce," not "douche."
It doesn't apply either way, though, "duce" is pronounced "doo-chay."
I would be scared of driving those since I wouldnt want anything happen to the car.
But then again I want to get a Supra mk3
...
Thinking of picking up an MR2 or Miata as my track car. Dailying a 1997 TJ jeep right now as my '16 GTI got repo'd and my 99 Volvo V70R hit a deer going 60mph 3 hours later.
Holy shit that sounds so amazing.
Whats your dream car anons?
What color is it?
Pic is mine. Can't afford adjustable coilovers atm so its looks pretty bad with that wheel gap.
The 695 biposto. Its a shame they dont sell it in the US and its also shame it costs like 70k
Just look at that gearbox. It has dog cut gears
Post baiku?
Qt jeep man
If we're going for roided-up versions of our own cars, then this is mine.
Do they sell those to us consumers? The biposto is a mass produced car any (yuropoor) can buy
Driving around at night seems like it would be pretty cool.
youtube.com
But I'm never getting a car or driver's license. Too expensive.
Vector W8
I saw one here in Florida the other day. They used to make them a city over. They only made like 13 of them in the entire world, so it was super rare.
Thanks bud, it's nice being able to go virtually anywhere. Even if it's not fast.
And look at the interior of this fucking thing! It's like some vaporwave gif. All those buttons
You can buy a turnkey R5 as well, and it's street legal, at least in Europe. It costs like 3 times as much as Biposto and it's even less practical as a street car, though - but in return it's AWD with 300-ish HP and a racing sequential gearbox, not to mention all the racing goodies like fire suppression, full cage, aero, datalogging/telemetry a spares package, etc. I've been dreaming for years about getting one and putting some a muffler and some tint on it so it's less obvious what it is and then taking it to my local canyons.
I saw one of those at Cars & Coffee a few years back, along with whatever the second-gen Vector was called. Really cool cars.
And those fucking rear lights! Jesus! Thing is so 80s. Must be a pain in the ass to reverse in I'd imagine
I like role playing as a late 80s early 90s rally rider
Going to autocross it tomorrow.
Kek same. I even put a Dakar sticker on my Honda even though it's not an Africa twin.
I have a 1st gen mazda 3, considering it's just an econobox its a pretty fun car. In fact, i'm liking it more and more every day. I got her some light wheels, now i'm planning on getting a minor brake upgrade and coilovers somewhere in the future. If anyone asks, i tell them i'll be keeping the car for 10 more years.
I also bought a supermoto baiku, i'm getting a license for it, though i'm already thinking of selling it, i kinda lost interest in riding.
>tfw drive ford fiesta flight 2001
cant wait till my insurance goes up so i can get a bit more powerful car
im a poor NEET in California whats a cool cheap car i can but for less than $2000?
Cool bike
kind of wish I had gotten something like your bike because I'm kinda worried of ruining my bike's paintjob
My next bike will be the T700/Tenere 700 if it ever comes out
ruining my bikes paintjob when going offroad and thrashing that is
For 2000 nothing much. Increase your price to 5k and you can get a pretty clean low mileage miata
All mazdas have a great sporty feeling to them. The engines are peppy and the steering is great

Such life in Brazil...
Thank m8. I think battle scars look good. I don't get too hardcore off road though cuz I'm a bussy. Seriously haven't even dropped it yet.
Robbed and killed since they shoot you first, check if you are not a cop and them go away. If you are a cop they shoot your head again.
R25. I love Alonso so much more than I love myself. Those engines make the best fucking sound known to man.
2013 Civic lx with porsche mags and a charcoal grey paint job.
I'm not even a Civic douche and this is my daily, but man I love this cat. Civics are really good cars. You can beat on them and as long as you're doing it with some judgement it takes it without a problem. Mine is fully equiped and it's a really comfortable car for something so inexpensive. I paid 10k overall for it with the mags included. Only one owner who was an old dude.
I'll snap a pic later on if the thread's still alive, but I'm at work right now.
Forgot:
>Tiburon
>integra or rsx
>gen 1 rx8 (will undoubtedly cost more to get running though)
>mitsu eclipse

slightly jank shitbike master race
Can confirm this is the best feeling ever. I have some friends who have like 5 80's MR2's between them (some parts cars with 2 running models.) They used to let me drive them when I was learning how to drive manual and there's something about that mid engine RWD chassis that's magical.
TFW 1st gen MR2s are non-existent in my area
This is the first time I've been properly jealous of anybody on Jow Forums, that's pretty much exactly the car I've been fantasizing about buying for the last few years. (Ever since I got to drive one hard on a twisty road.) I really want a 997.2 C2S, so I've gotta scrape up something like 50k to get one.
I had a red '87 with a JDM hi-comp redtop and a few other mods for a while. Great car. My weird favorite thing about it was the feel of the throttle, it was slick and heavy in a way that really made you feel like you had great control over it.
What about a boxster? A good clean one can be had for 15k
Used boxsters are a great price/performance purchase but Porsche owners are douches and the stigma of driving the cheapest Porsche is pretty real
Not interested, it's the rear-engine layout that draws me to the 911. The Boxster is a good car (and the Cayman is even better), but it's a completely different kind of driving experience and one that I'm not that into. There are plenty of other MR options anyway, I think you can even get a used Elise for less than 20 now and I'd rather have that than a Boxster, especially because Porsches in that price range pretty much all have the IMS bearing cancer.
I pwned one for a lityle while, more like I was landed one by a friend, really fun cars. I saw gen 1 for sale so far and never had the money. Back then they were cheap, but now they're worth quite a penny and I don't really want to invest my savings into this alone.
Pros: Absolute handling(unless you suck), Actually perfectly reliable as a daily if you live somewhere where winter doesn't exist, the most fuel efficient car I've ever had with its small ass 4A-GE, pop up headlights and looks goddamn sexy all the time. Also the smoothest gearshifting I have experienced on a 80's car that was somewhat beaten. Even my 2013 Civic didn't have such smooth shifting.
Cons: It's a two seater that might as well have been a one-seater. Anyone sitting shotgun will be a supreme annoyance as they have no place to rest their arm but their knees and since their knees kinda gets in the way of the gearstick, shifting becomes tiresome. It's a SMALL ass car. I'm 5'11" and my knees were constantly grazed by the steering wheel. My 6'1" roommate simply couldn't drive it as the steering wheel was always blocked by his knees. This is legit a car made for manlets.
I wish it could have been mine, but oh well, just being able to daily it for a summer is fine with me. I spotted a mint one last summer during a roadtrip, but me and my friend didn't take any info since we were poorfags.
I really fucking love the Mazda RX-7 FD, have been like that since I was a child.
Aside from that I'm not all that much of a car guy, though I obviously like them
If you ever own one, the one thing you have to be aware of is that these cars get fucking burning hot! Most people who mod them invest more on life support than actually boosting performance.
Also they are revving engines, the rotary was designed for performance and 0% for reliability. Nobody who doesn't like to revuild the engine every month would daily these cars.
Also, no power before 6000 RPM, but once you get there it becomes a fucking beast.
What about the MX-5? Pretty cheap if bought used and looks great imo
Also how about the fuel consumption?
That's also important unless you're a richfag sigh
It's sad to say, but there's a good reason so many FDs end up with LS or other V8s in them.
>Nobody who doesn't like to revuild the engine every month would daily these cars.
Is that actually doable by anyone who takes their time to learn the process or just a mechanician thing?
I'd like to keep my dream of owning one in the future (only 20 RN), but if it's TOO MUCH I'll have to just give it up I guess
Going to upgrade from a 5-mt '13 Focus 2.0 to a 6-MT Mazda3 2.5, anyone has driven it? I'd get a miata but they're ricetaxed and I need something 4 door.
Pic related is my car. 2009 Corolla with a sporty roof rack, what do you robots think of corollas in general?
2002 outback reporting in
Something about a Ferrari that nothing else quite matches.
I heard all the stories about them being extremely good to drive were also true so that's a bonus.
Night driving is the reason I live for. Whether its cruising around the city at 3am listening to the best music on offer or taking the curvy mountain roads for a while to go see the sunrise over the horizon of the city. These are the moments I live for. The solace that I find in the empty open streets and the conversations with the like minded. I've met so many single guys that all they like doing is the same. Sometimes we get a good group of us going up the nearest curvy set of tarmac. These are the moments I live for.
I can only judge the aesthetics of the car since I don't know jack shit about engines, but man they're cool.
As a pizzalander, I second this.
Other Italian brands like Lamborghini might match Ferrari, though.
I'd be very curious to drive a Pagani but I think I've seen like one in my whole 20 years of suffering...
I've driven both Ferraris (360, 430, and 458) and Lamborginis (Gallardo, Murcielago, and Huracan.) I still enjoy 911s more than either.
Comfy cars. Had a corolla before my abarth, great for cruising.
They are getting more and more expensive. Better off with the rx8 if you want a rotary imo.
Thanks mr. lonely driver.
Much love
top comf but my a/c broke long ago so summers are rough with the black leather.
Same here. I am depressed 24/7 except when i take my car on to a backroad. Cars really are the greatest cope. I am glad i started these car threads here, makes me feel like i'm not the only one.
Alot of rich people are robots. Look at elliot rodgers. Money can't buy a cure for autism
The Miata brand is a better choice for reliability, but in terms of power and performance, it's a baby compared to the FD, Especially if it's the sequential twin turbo FD. However, the strenght of the MX-5 and other Miatas is the 50-50 weight distribution. It is pretty much perfectly balanced, what it lacks in power it makes up in control and handling. It's a perfect track car. Most muscles can't even beat a Miata when the road gets tough. Fuel consumption wise, an RX7 drinks more gas than a V8 RAM and I'm not eve joking. Most of the reason why it's such a bitch is that how rotaries are made, you have 3 explosions per one crankshaft rotation as opposed to cylinder block engines where you get one explosion per rotation. Basically, a rotary iis always burning gas at every moment. Also because you only get power at high RPM so if you wanna get fun out of it you must stick into the 6k rpm range.
True, but it ruins the experience. Sure your car becomes more reliable and also more powerful, but it's no longer an RX7 so what's the point?
It's more of an exxageration, but the advantage of a rotary in terms of maintenance is that they are incredibly simple engines in terms of design. Extremely easy to understand and rebuild, but they break all the time due to design issues and over heating. Most owners have to change the apex oil seals on the rotor every few months because they tend to fail often and once they do, oil gets in the compression chamber and burns with the gas so you end up losing motor oil and encrassing the engine with burned oil residue and since the apex seals are on the rotor, the heart of the engine, it implies a full engine dissassembly. They are not hard to assemble and dissassemble, but it's still time you have to invest and when you have to do it several times a year, you get tired of the car real quick.
Keep in mind there are a lot of owners who don't have to do this level of maintenance, if you're cateful with the xar it will never fail, but then you won't get any fun out of it. These cars are meant to be pushed.
Idk, perhaps my sight of reality is warped by the fact that in Italy making THAT much money is very, very unique and very rarely seen.
People including myself are not taught to jump into entrepreneurship and also Italy's economy is very poor and stagnant.
That said, I don't really think rich robots make a huge part of this board, probably not even a 10%
>Elliot Rodgers
Come on he was the son of some Hollywood VIP or whatever, how many people in the world can even say that kek
Thanks for the insightful explanation, to be fair I won't be getting on a circuit or whatever for at least 10 years and in the same way I won't have money for an FD let alone buying that and paying the absurd amount of money required to run your car in a circuit in Pizzaland (and probably having your rotari engine go and fuck itself during the whole process)
Sorry if I'm being rude, but when it comes to fuel consumption I was referring to the MX-5 which I might MAYBE (if I get into uni I'll be studying without working for the next like 6-7 years) afford if my parents give me some help !
I heard in spaghetti land abarths are crazy expensive. Like a used one doesn't depreciate. In amuttica, you can pick one up for 7500 dollars
I don't remember the displacement for a MX-5, but considering they are inline 4, it shoukdn't be more than 3l at most. Realistically, it's probably 2.5l.
Still, they may be making V6 on them nowadays, but they are somewhat fuel efficient. A 2.5 is not so bad, but if you are used to driving 1.8l cars, you'll see a pretty big difference.
I suggest you google the model you want if you wanna know its displacement.
Its a 1.6 for the 1991-1996, 1.8l for the 1998-2003, 2.0l 2004-current year

Add more if I missed them
Na and nb miata had 1.6 and 1.8l engines. I have the 1.8 vvt engine and get 30mpg combined. Nc has a 2.0 I think don't know about fuel economy but is the most powerful OEM engine put in a miata aside from mazdaspeed
They sure are not very cheap.
Regardless only "tamarri" (like 'cool' thugs or whatever) will buy Abarths so it's pretty whatever anyways x)

I'll add VTS Citroen's for poor Eurofags and Golfs GTI
