Almost a year into this minus dermarolling and my temples have been growing back and my hair has thickened up a bit. Very slow but definitely working. Had side effects for the first month or two but they went away. Definitely worth a shot if you care about your hair

Unfortunately yes. I noticed it a few months ago. I’ve balded maybe about an inch back on my temples and a little less than a quarter inch on the front. I can tell because I still have some hairs in those areas but the density isn’t there. Just a word of caution, family history isn't the end all be all. I have always had the thickest head of hair imaginable. My father and his father both have/had full heads of hair. My mother's father and her brothers also all have/had full heads of hair. Every man in my family for generations has not been bald. I thought I was 100% in the clear and that this was something I'd never ever need to worry about.

...and then age 25 I started thinning out and receding at the temples. 27 now and it's now noticeably thinner, but luckily it was thick enough to start that it still looks okay when styled properly, and no bald spot yet or anything like that. But still, I'm balding and everything pointed to me being in the clear. Oh well.
