Someone asked how to improve metal health but by the time I wrote my response it got deleted. I think this can be useful to people so I'm posting.

Aight, heres what I figured out, in order of importance:

1. Proper, regular sleep. Doesn't matter when you sleep, just do it as regularly as you can. Proper sleep is when you wake up refreshed. Read up on sleep hygiene.

2. Food. You are what you eat. If you eat shit, you'll feel like shit. Sticky will help you with that.

3. Social life. I dont care how much you think you hate or dont need people. You are human and you need other people. We are social animals. Find what tickles your lonely. Being a positive force on others has helped me a lot.

4. Emotions are your friend. Learn to recognize what you feel and why. Use them to guide you in your goals and shit. Never neglect them or it will ruin you. Some people do it by meditation, I dropped acid. The point is to know whats going on in your head.

5. Fun. Do something you actually enjoy on the regular. Smoke a joint once in a long while, drink with friends.

6. Money. Proven to be a huge boost to happiness up until a certain range (~200k/year)

7. Exercise. Should be higher but I'm too lazy to edit. Read sticky for this.

The only thing that actually helped me with this was a job. Otherwise I just slowly drift into night owl mode. Also, if you're a teenager, its natural and some adults simply get used to it.

btw it's the "regular" thats important. You can go to bed at 5am and wake up at 2 pm if it works for you. The steadiness of it is biggest factor.

im 20 and i cant go to sleep early even though i get sleepy all day long, today i slept from 2 pm to 5 pm and now im not sleepy and its night time

I'd go see a doctor. They will refer you to a psychologist because you might need more help than a Jow Forums shitposter can do. Sorry but some things you actually need help with to solve.

Give up porn and all sexually stimulating media. It does you no good.

Give up popular media completely. It's designed to destroy you. Also, go back and rewatch your favorite shows and media you used to watch as a child. Retrace your steps and recognize all of the mental imprints that were left on you.

Take up meditation and daily physical activity. Doesn't have to be exercies but you need to get some fresh air and activity.

Stand up straight and think, no, know that you are worth something. Act as such and never betray yourself or let yourself down by acting beneath yourself.

Eat whole foods.
Cut out all of the vegetable and plant based oils.

Get between 6-10 hours of sleep at night. In the dark, with no wifi or smart phones or lights on in your room.
Not even music.
Sleep naked with your head out of the covers.

Learn how to deal with stress.

Do not keep a smartphone or tablet or laptop/netbook on your crotch/ovaries. It neuters men and destroys the dna of women's eggs. This is on record. This happens. Entire countries are discussing what to do about this problem now.
Wifi routers left next to an infant or newborns bed will cause crib death for gods sake.

Music has power. It changes your mood how you think how your body functions. Do not allow yourself to be poisoned by shit music that does not help you.

Your thoughts have weight and power. Do not discount your feelings thoughts and words. Respect them and other will respect you.

Have something.
Anything. A car, a home, a hobby, a skill, anything. It grounds you to reality and makes you feel like a whole person.

There is nothing wrong with being a virgin.

Do not force yourself to be more social or anything. Do not trust the words of people who have something to sell you or want you for something.

It may take some time, but:
>Go to sleep
>Wake up early (set alarms, you'll be fine)
>ACTUALLY GET THE FUCK UP (this is the hard part)
>Go about your day
>Feel like shit later in the day
>Go to sleep again
>Set your alarms again, but if you wake up hours before them, get up, and go about your day (If it is 4AM then watch a movie, or better yet, take a walk)
>Repeat
>Aim for going to sleep about 8 hours or so before you have to wake up
>If you are an adult male, 7 hours or so should do you plenty
>Avoid sleeping in on weekends, it will fuck you up

Masturbation is actually pretty good for you. It reduces stress, cleans your pipes (important to reduce prostate cancer risk). It's like with everything in life, if u do it too much its bad.

Idk about whole foods. I see conflicting things about it, mostly that the "whole" parts usually pass right true your digestive system and might even fuck up ur appendix. I think its mostly a fad, like organic food. The biggest factor is quality.

The laptop/phone radiating your balls is woo. This smells of anti-vaccine thinking.

Everything else I completely agree. And yeah, don't force yourself too much. Learn to negotiate with yourself.

Plant based oils literally cause cancer and harden your arteries.

Only a few of them are any good and you can't actually find it.
Fucking olive oil is almost always just some random veg oil with SOME olive oil in it.

What's wrong with sleeping in a room with a wifi/smart phone?

I started swimming again the past week and its really helped me. I guess just being alone with my thoughts and going zen mode really helps. I feel super calm after I'm done
