how the hell does everyone manage to have a bench so close to their squat. mine is nearly half. I bench and squat twice a week 3x5

Not OP, but I'm personally still working on recovering from a car accident which left me in a wheelchair for two years. My bench is over twice my squat, and my physical therapist thought I would never walk without a cane or assistive device again, so I'm fairly proud of the meager lifts I'm able to swing.

I know that was an unnecessary blog post, but I figured it was somewhat relevant. You never know who is just weak or who is recovering from something out of their direct control.

I'm pretty sure I'm the one who's weak in the only metric that matters as far as looking string goes, upper body strength.

OP here, the most I've squatted is 235 for 5 reps. I'm an on and off again squatter. I just started getting back in to it to help my sprints.

Don't listen to these losers bro.
You need to decrease weight and increase weight on your compound lifts though or you will overtax your nervous system. It's stil cool to do a max triple like once a week though also consider just going with an Epsom salt bath for recovery and eliminating the machine flys.
