Gotta have a good posterior chain exercise if you do front. As much as I like front squats, I don't like deadlift and it's variations even more, so I stick to back squats.

I usually end my squats with a failure set of front. Never really tried it heavy or on its own.

Front squats are no joke. I can't even get the form right. The bar is too close to my neck and it's hard to stay upright. I back squat 2 plates 3X8.

Can confirm. I do both but I get people saying whoa.jpeg and asking for pointers when I do front squats.

Just do zerchers instead of front squats.

Been off the gym for a month due to inflammation in my eyes.

So I'm thinking of going hard with front squats when I get back. Max them out until I stall with a 5lbs increase every session and then switch back to back squats

for people with short biceps, wouldnt that hurt resting the bar on the tendon?

Work on front rack mobility. You're probably tight in your upper back and shoulders. If you get the rack right the bar will lay on your delts rather than your neck

Pretty much same here. Shoulders scream at me when back squating. So fronts and deads for me

It takes like a week maybe 2 of stretching to get the rack position.

I fucked up my left wrist when I failed during a back squat, I'm kinda hesitant to put too much pressure on it.

Complement them with RDLs so you have both extremes of the hinge/squat continuum covered. Much better than rippetoe squat and dl, they are too similar and fry your cns.

I love front squats, and do them instead of back squats, but

Front squats are somewhat less taxing to the whole body as a unit, which is great if you can't kill yourself in the gym every day because you've got other shit to deal with in your life, but not so great if you want to get as strong as possible ASAP.

Both. Squats for intensity, Front-squats for volume.

I like doing both even though they overlap since Front Squats are already hard to do heavy, they work your core more when you do higher rep ranges, and backsquats for high reps cause more spinal compression (as far as I know)
