Lel no way fag.

Get a gun or a knife

It is, but MMA is better. No reason to limit yourself.

In order of efficacy
>don't live around blacks/spics
>situational awareness
>ccw
>a good 800m time/parkour
>muay thai/boxing + bjj/judo/wrestling
>other styles which train full contact with regular sparring
>power gap
>krabby magoo/systema
>pyjama dancing
>woo woo magic

this. I can't wait to get a pay bump so I can replace cardio days with going to MMA lessons.

its good so as long you are fighting with just 1 person. However, if you and all of your friends did jiu jitsu it would be safe to say you guys aren't going to lose any fights unless a weapon is pulled

Presumably some mix of wrestling and Muay Thai/kickboxing. People with wrestling backgrounds are pretty dominant in the UFC, and you'll still need a stand-up game.

MMA is an umbrella term, OP is asking for particular martial arts.

>Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

In controlled environments (read: gyms with matts or cage fights where there is a competent ref) then sure - you do stand a good chance of 'winning'.

In the real world where tyrone has 20 friends backing him up, the ground is hard concrete, and it's likely someone is going to pull a weapon anyway - you're screwed.

boxing obviously

Punching a guy works pretty well. Going to the ground just means you get kicked in the head since niggers are actually subhuman and will jump all over you the second you start winning. But fights are for high school children like 90% of this board.

If I was theoretically hiring personal bodyguards I would want sambo or judo guys with light striking skills and some basic armbar + chokehold knowledge. Beating somebody bloody usually opens you up to an arrest or lawsuit.

HERE WE GO AGAIN

>Self Defense
Get a gun or go home, literally.
>Anti-bullying for kids
BJJ
>One on one fight, or MMA Style
Grappling + Striking combo
BJJ + MT or Wrestling + Boxing
>Fun, least likely to get badly injured, most practical to train effectively and could be used as a cop or bodyguard / bouncer
BJJ/Judo/Wrestling AKA Grappling martial arts
>Getting in shape
BJJ or Kickboxing
>has qt grills that you’ll get up close and personal with
BJJ

Remember, if someone shits on Brazilian Jiujitsu, they seriously have no idea what they’re talking about.

running

now, seriously, muay thai + judo is my choice (and i'd put more emphasis on muay thai)

>bjj meme
>expects qts
>ends up swallowing ass sweat from men

>if someone shits on BJJ they dont know what theyre talking about

>Being such garbage that you somehow end up with someone’s ass near your mouth
Confirmed being the kind of drooling moron I was referring to that thinks they know, but they don’t.

Implying you wouldnt let your pic related sit on your face

>BJJ
>a sport that encourages faggy tactics that will get you killed irl by making the obvious counter illegal

youtube.com/watch?v=ukE907OB_0w

As usual, boxing/kickboxing/judo/wrestling

This

I’d let her get me into a triangle so I could sniff her crotch.
She can sit on my face after class.

>recommends Judo and Wrestling but not BJJ, which is essentially minor judo when standing and more effective wrestling when on the ground
>thinks you can’t use BJJ IRL when there are plenty of examples of cops using BJJ techniques to subdue suspects and is actually rising in popularity for police training
>mfw I train with actual police officers that have stories of BJJ saving lives and minimizing harm of themselves, the suspect, and potentially others around them

These threads really bring out the monkeys that think they know anything about MAs.

Judo probably is the worst MA you can pick if you want to avoid injuries.

>taking martial arts to avoid injuries

Attached: 1547697069995.jpg (455x495, 42K)

>learn self defense specifically to avoid getting hurt by people
>go to martial arts gym and get hurt by people
Seems self-defeating, is all I'm saying

Injuries are expected in all contact sports. But judo in particular has a high, rate of injuries that put you out for a long time.

100% all combat sports will injure you. It will happen, it’s only a matter of severity.

Best you can do is try to make it a minor injury:

The worst thing about Gi BJJ and Judo is that it will distroy your hands long term.

Is LWA worth picking up or nah

>Going to the ground just means you get kicked in the head since niggers are actually subhuman and will jump all over you the second you start winning.

This so much, I love BJJ and maybe if i were attacked by a lone guy i would use it, but in a multiple attacker situation you never want to go to the ground.

Gun> everything

Being able to control a situation on the ground is important for getting off of the ground if you find yourself there though. Anyone stupid enough to pull gaurd in a streetfight deserves their brain damage but BJJ is definitely useful to know.

Its wrestling+kickboxing. Karv Maga,Asian bullshit,Chinese pajama bullshit, bathrobe with colored belts and most BJJ schools(some are really good but for the most part its extremelt watered down) are all useless. If you want to fight really well learn how to kickbox and wrestle.

>What is the most effective way to fight?
Not fighting and getting away from troubles.
t. bjj black belt.

Depends on the gym.

learn how to run
get fit
get a knife

Realistically: no form of training will really be of help in a real street fight, I was doing Aikido a few years backs, more for the spiritual aspect of things than the "fighting" part, the teacher had been training cops all around my country for almost 30 years, he told us that the best thing to learn was how to run away and not get in bad situations to begin with.

That being said: practicing a fighting sport is still better than nothing, you know how it feels to take punches, how to protect yourself, improved balance and mental strength, I've heard good things from BJJ, MMA, boxing.

You don't learn how to fight in Aikido tho

I heard gunfights are pretty solid :)

well sure, but you could do any other sport, pick up injuries anyway, and still not be better at fighting.

He was teaching it, but he was a specialist in many different other fighting sports. Aikido was just what he enjoyed teaching the most.

This is truly the best advise you can get. Being in a fight can get your life ruined if you get caught. Even if you "win" and it was pure self defense you're still in a world of shit with legal issues. AT BEST you end up paying expensive lawyer fees and age 5 years due to all the court stress. At worst you get into a fight after you see a dude beating up a chick so you defend her. When the cops show up the chick is the only witness who can tell them that you did nothing wrong but it turns out that the dude was dicking her down hard outside of the abuse so she says that you attacked her. They go on with their life saying "nobody understand our life" and have hot sex later that night while you spend the night in prison next to the local drunk who got in a bar fight. You end up in court and the jury is full of low IQ simpletons who think that you should have called the police and violence is never the answer. 5 years in prison. You get out mentally fucked up with "violent assaulter" on your record for the rest of your life. No place will hire you. No landlord will give you an apartment lease. You'll end up living in the ghetto for the rest of your life next to people who have similar stuff on their record so good luck with that.
TLDR: Knowing how to defend yourself is great and so is fighting. I do both and love them more than anything but DO NOT get into a street fight. Run.

WHO ARE THESE FUCKING FAGGOTS POSTING THIS THREAD EVERY FUCKING DAY????????

BJJ IS A MEME EXCEPT IN BJJ TOURNAMENTS

TRY AND OF THIS SHIT IN REAL LIFE AND YOU WILL BE KILLED

BJJ IS A SPORT AND NO LONGER TAUGHT AS A METHOD OF SELF DEFENSE

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

youtube.com/watch?v=ukE907OB_0w

what am I even watching? guys laying on the ground with one another?

If you like cute girls doing magic then yes.

I just want an effective method for unarmed self defense, senpai. Is boxing still good, at least?

Immagine this but on concrete lol. BJJcucks on suicide watch

>
Yup, can attest to this

Only kids under 20 can't grasp the legal implications of getting into fights

Had a friend get dishonorably discharged + 5 years in court hearings + civil lawsuit over breaking some guy's nose in a club over a drunken brawl. So yeah

Couldn't have said it better

BJJ is useful to know, and works in fighting, otherwise it wouldn't be a big deal in the UFC. There're obviously techniques that only work in the sport setting, but that doesn't invalidate the entire martial art.

I'm 19 years old and I've looked into all of that stuff. Its crazy how someone under 20 can ruin his life by one stupid decision. I'd say even up to 25 a lot of kids haven't fully matured yet and would get into stupid fights that can turn bad for them

>big deal in the UFC
Name me one current champion that comes from a BJJ background. Sorry bjjnerds but wrestling is clearly superior to your huezillian sport. Don't make me post Woodley/Colby vs Brazilian gifs to prove my point

Where can you even train wrestling after High School/Uni? BJJ gyms are everywhere but I've never seen a wrestling gym.

Being such a bullshido only fags practice it as a mean of self-defense, others learn striking on incapacitating body points.

Attached: strike twice as hard.jpg (463x700, 96K)

Maybe an MMA gym or they'll probably teach you if you join the military. I know that it sucks that wrestling isn't as widely available but its also the reason wrestling isn't watered down like BJJ.

>be rich
>pay as many people as possible to fight for you

Serious answer? Learn your anatomy and technique, study and practice hard, utilize your environment and capitalize on your opponent's weaknesses while knowing your own

terrible argument. literally every fighter has to learn submission grappling. just because it's not the art that only the champions learned from childhood doesn't mean it's worthless.

>ywn sheepishly ask her to drink gas station vodka with you behind the bleachers after school and end up getting so drunk she has to quietly nurse you back to health at her house and ends up smothering your half-conscious face with her enormous milkers while adjusting your pillows

STOP

it works a bit in fighting in the UFC. You know, with rules. Try any of that shit on the street and you will die, like I said earlier.

He'll be fine.

total myth. you're posturing like you know, but most likely you've never been in a fight, and if you have it was most likely drunken swinging.

the word "martial" in martial arts comes from mars, the god of war. martial arts are arts of war, they were used in war time to help soldiers stay alive (even when they still used melee weapons!). many of them have been neutered, but some of them are still strong. the assertion that all of them are unrealistic or something is just silly, and only comes from people with no experience.

im confused as to what you are even saying here. I never said that all are unrealistic or anything of the sort. I'm saying that if you try to throw a triangle on some guy in a street fight, don't complain when he picks you up and smashes your head on the concrete.

okay so i've been in some "street fights"

throwing punches is important. knowing how to throw hard punches fast is really important.

you're not gonna go to the ground you're not gonna spear anyone. just get in close and keep fucking his shit up fast and hard. just overwhelm them with blows and keep hitting them high so they can't really see to counter.

if you get hit in the face by someone that can throw a punch you may be done right there. this isn't the matrix or a movie your not going to dodge blows and throw counters. Its going to be fast and over quick and then gtfo.

So if you can't throw a punch take up some boxing. but this is all last resort. fights happen when your situational awareness has been compromised or you acted against your instincts.

>ignoring the compilation of bjj competition rules encouraging techniques that are clearly suicidal irl

Well, you wouldn't be able to complain, being that BJJ has given you severe brain damage

proper technique prevents that from happening; good triangle technique includes hooking behind the knee with your arm so that they fall over instead of standing up.

what you said was that bjj only works in the ufc, and that using it in the street will get you killed. i'm explaining to you why that's a myth.

Which is why it dominated the first UFCs, which had basically no rules. Retard

>many of them have been neutered, but some of them are still strong.
He knows...

Attached: operation.jpg (1000x912, 322K)

Bjj only works where there are rules present. Watch the video I posted earlier. Shit that only gets you dq'd in a BJJ contest can get you killed in real life. BJJ is taught differently now, which is my whole point. It used to be a self-defense method, and now it's taught as a sport. No need for name calling.

I guarantee this guy doesn't train and would get wrecked if he went to a BJJ class by little girls

That’s awfully specific, user. Are you okay?

You can’t teach monkeys, friend. Let them be in denial. They likely don’t even lift, let alone participate in a combat sport.

You know, I'm actually curious how many world class judoka, greco, or freestyle wrestlers were in the early UFCs. Guys that weren't just cans or unprepared for grappling (like many of the people coming from a striking background).

THE OP ISN'T LOOKING FOR A COMBAT "SPORT" JESUS CHRIST YOU BJJ GUYS ARE SUCH FAGGOTS

>I can’t differentiate between sport techniques and self defense techniques
>if one thing wouldn’t work, all of it is useless and bullshit
Just lmao

Why would I fight? I'm not some groid brah.

I do teach BJJ. It's a pretty fun hobby/sport.

Not really into autistic self-defense fantasies that people around here have.

Attached: Dance Wagie.png (1132x864, 1.43M)

Combat sport, martial art, self defense techniques, they’re all essentially the same. Calm your autism and take off caps lock.

I’ve been doing judo for like two years and we’ve had like 1 serious injury this entire time, what are you guys talking about?

self defense and sport are not the same, which is why BJJ is useless in a real life fight. But whatever, you're not gonna change your mind cause you already spent money on your little faggot gi

>no need for name calling
>BJJcucks
FUCKING FAGGOTS
But you are right that BJJ taught as a sport has serious problems for self defence, as does any martial art taught purely in sports terms. If you go to a good gym with a self defence focus you'll learn not to do the stupid sport shit outside of sport.

So he was a pussy, that’s the only type of person who’d go aikidos the best

>what’s the most effective way to fight?

>UFC 1: Royce Gracie crushes cans and strikers unprepared for grappling; biggest challenge was basically a pro-wrestler
>UFC 2: Royce Gracie fights a decent judoka and strikers that haven't learned how to grapple
>UFC 3: Royce nearly gets outgrappled by a Tae Kwon Do guy and is hurt enough that he withdraws
>UFC 4: Royce Gracie crushes some cans and gets taken into deep waters by a good wrestler

Maybe he was just a big fish in a small pond that was still filled with bullshido like non-contact karate, shaolin kung fu, wing chun, etc and where the strikers hadn't adapted to the threat of getting taken down. Really makes you think.

>arrest or lawsuit
Only if you live in a shit country.
Yes.
Muay Thai absolutely will help you in a street fight. No one expects knees or elbows and no retard in a street fight is ready for leg kick.

>what is 10th planet JJ
You’re so retarded it’s cute.

>best martial art
Boxing + judo for 1v1 fights
Running for all other types of fights
Keep it simple and run if you can, there is no shame in awoiding trouble that can literally ruin your life.
I am from slav country where nobody gives a fuck about a small fight unless your oponent has some connections in local police. Being able to fight in slavland is essential for survival. In western countries with all that retarded "you should have not interefered and just called the police" attitude you can easily get marked for life after hitting someone in their face once even if they attacked you, as user above already said.

Imagine being so poor you make assumptions like this.

Jiu jitsu is the gayest shit
T. Purple belt south Australian >85kg champion 2018

I'm from a former Soviet country where everyone had to know how to fight and fights were just broken up. I'm Armenian which is nothing like Slav but in terms of law and fighting most former communist countries are pretty much the same. I currently live in the West and wish we could fight here but as I made that long post above it will ruin my life if I do

Post medals m8

because 10th planet wears gay rashguards instead of gi's i'm retarded? ok bud.

>implying i'm poor
>implying anyone's financial situation has anything to do with what I said

>he doesn’t just have compression clothing in general
Fucking lmao

Killing isn't optimal in modern hell, for legal reasons

Boxing is regulated by rules that real life doesn't obey. I mean it's a good fight style if you have nothing else in your arsenal, but if you habitually just punch and can't grapple or pin if you need to, you might be out of luck

well you sure showed me

Kek
