You can have something you want to live for and dictate that as your meaning but nothing will bring order to the world we live in. The universe is chaotic and without order, but you can find something you want to live for.
it is so just enjoy the experiences morally of course
Your are the scientific result of a lightning strike that happened 3.7 billion years ago. In the end, thats all anyone on this mud ball will be. Make what little you can with what life youve been given, find a hobby that keeps you engaged, eat healthy and try to be nice. Thats it, thats all the meaning there is.
shut the fuck up you dumb idiot.
What are some books with this feel?
yes, RICK AND MORTY FOR LIFE BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, I WATCHED WISECRACK I'M A FUCKING PHILOSOPHER BOII
Eat a throbbing cock you troglodyte
>n. The universe is chaotic and without order,
Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper. - Albert Einstein
LIFE is nothing but one of the possible SURFACE QUALITIES of a planet. There's GEOSPHERE, BIOSPHERE AND STATOSPHERE and we, humans, animals and plants are just parts of the biosphere. Nothing more, nothing less. We are just giving an exaggerated importance to our own sphere we are parts of, trying to ponder the meaning of it, the meaning of LIFE, and the meaning of ourselves. There is no more meaning to us or our existence than there is meaning to the existence of the other spheres such as geosphere or the stratosphere.
And the Universe gives a fuck about us. We are not existing to it, as we are too rare and in small numbers.
Yet I like to live and try to make best out of my life.
meaningless still means something to you when you hear it
go poke some stumps in a forest with a stick
Yes it is, but is the afterlife any better?
This, life is meaningless but that doesn't mean you should kill yourself, you set your own victory conditions and goals in life, here's a quote i found on plebbit:
>Life... is a sandbox video game. You have a brief tutorial, about 15 years, but it doesn't explain everything in the slightest, really, outside from basic controls. Character generation is completely random, which sucks. However, ability progression is extremely intuitive, though it can get really, really grindy. Very few activities are absolutely required. Food, shelter, and some way to heal are about it. Think Minecraft. However, there are a lot of things to do. The gameworld is huge. Like really, really huge. Not a lot of direction though. You kinda gotta do that yourself. Some NPCs will help you. Some will hurt you. Most are simply filler, or shops that sell premium items. However, there is a fairly cool system where you can invest experience in certain NPCs, and thus improve your relationship with them. Doesn't work on all of them, though. Main thing is, though, you have to find your own goals. There really aren't a lot of quest givers, and a bunch of the ones that do exist kinda give out repeating missions. You have to find your own joy in the game. You have to explore, or figure out which activities make you happiest. You have to play the game you want to play, given the resources you can get. And no, I'm not some enlightened moron who is always happy. I struggle with this constantly, wondering what the grind really amounts to. But you have to keep going. Find a bit you like, and work at it. There are no saves. There isn't a sequel. There is no other server. This is what we got. We have to make it work.
People who think about this kind of thing tend to be losers. Just get big bro.
Oh, I got it now. You are supposed to think about the meaning or the meaningless of life in an IRONIC way, you can not be SERIOUS about such a thing. Because if you actually are, it shows that you have something worthwhile to say, that is making the others feel inadequate. Whatever you bore-ass pseudo-intellectuals, continue being ironic as you have nothing much to say for real.
yes.
anyone who says otherwise is deluding themselves, or worse yet, deluding others
>Yet I like to live and try to make best out of my life.
make the best of it how? what is "the best"?
We are alone creating order from chaos, life everywhere but quality of life not, not to be taken for granted... While there is more than 1 answer, there are infinite more ways to do something wrong senpai, so do well everything you do.
By improving myself, my talents and my skills. The more I develop them the more I am able to utilize them and the more I utilize them the more I enjoy. Being able to enjoy life is making the best out of it.
Hey, did you know that by growing the negentropy of your room by cleaning it, you grow the entropy of the Universe? I was being IRONIC! Wasn't I?
>Being able to enjoy life is making the best out of it.
not sure this idea is compatible with saying there is no meaning to life
but anyway that's not important, user, help me out with this
i have skills and talents that i can improve and utilize to my own enjoyment, but doing that is also difficult and strenuous
on the other hand, i can do easy things that are completely hedonistic but don't afford me as much satisfaction ultimately
how would you navigate this issue? should i focus on the demanding-but-more-satisfying things rather than the undemanding-but-less-satisfying? and if yes then how do i accomplish that when it is difficult?
In an absolute sense and on a large enough scale, yes. You might die being dissolved in acid alive tomorrow and people who wouldn't give a fuck, and whose life wouldn't be affected in any way, could be found not even a spit away. Even without calling in the vastness of the universe argument.
On a small, personal scale, you are stuck on living anyway, so might as well give it meaning yourself. Maybe your meaning is hedonism, or maybe you believe in leaving a legacy, either through impacting human history or raising a strong family. Maybe you can't find meaning anyway.
Man needs both struggle and self-satisfaction in their life, to live mentally balanced.
That's why people who don't work are depressed fucks, but people who have jobs still need their Sundays off and 4-6 weeks of vacation time per year.
Since it's impractical to perfectly balance work and fun every day, assuming you have necessities taken care of and can always choose exactly what to do every day, you do one or the other, at the end of the you ask yourself: was I happy this day doing this? Am I going to bed happier than I woke up this morning, and yesterday? If no, you start switching it up.
While our p-brane (or whatever model) might run down from order to disorder, it makes less sense to say open global entropy/negentropy increases/decreases... 2nd Law memes apply locally to closed systems but consider Big Bang 2.0 (or whatever version), and someone could still be around assigning value to something, indefinitely.
