Water filled dumbbells

are they a bad idea?

I'm doing a homegym and im considering buying these instead of regular iron.

is it worth it? will they break or tear in no time?

also, what about the plates? do they even make water filled plates? Cant find them on amazon.

are you an idiot? do you know the volume of 1 kg?

No "CLANK", no gains.

Why would someone buy this? I dont understand.

>Americans will never immediately know the volume of 1kg of water

If you think you won't need anything more than 5kg then go ahead

Check gumtree or craigslist or whatever you have locally, there's always some boomer selling his rusty old weights for cheap.

>are they a bad idea
Putting the dumb in dumbbell

they're portable, in case I need to travel and there's no gyms nearby

Just do power blocks dude lmao

why would you need to know the volume when you can just weigh it.

you could literally just fill a back pack with books and curl that

If you care about portability just invest in a set of resistance bands. Or just do calisthenics when you're traveling.

A fluid oz of water also weighs one oz you knob

my point is that it would be extremely unfeasible. imagine putting 20 litres of water into a "water filled plate"

just dont drop em..

Why not just use this instead?.. Portable too

Great idea user. Get a gallon of milk, do curls, take a sip at the top of each rep. The ultimate drop set.

>"Whoa, dude! You've been making some serious gains this years! How much do you bench?"
>"Like 5 maybe 6 gallons"

dude, dont post pictures of yourself on Jow Forums.

Just get some adjustable 100lb dumbbells. If you never use them your only out $100, but if you really get into this fitness stuff you can easily upgrade them with more 25$=25lb plates as you get stronger. Never breaks. No plastic shit to tear off. I'd imagine water filled is probably too inconvenient, even for travelers, to fill and dump in a hotel bathtub, compared to a hotel gym or local gym

Look, my dude.
Iron is 7.7 times as dense as water.
Think about how big a 45 lb plate is. A container of water of equivalent weight would be approximately 7.7 times as large.

yes, placing nearly 4.5 L of water into dumbbells to get 10lbs is ridiculous.

Thanks for your contribution

Yes, 20L of water. I get it. Not saying its inefficient, just saying you could just weigh things out instead of trying to understand 1ml is equal to 1g and 454g is equal to 1lb. Thats why i suggested using books in a backpack instead.

I bought this 1 for $240. I rarely use it.. Im at the gym 5x/wk anyways. Just buy plain steel ones w the screw on cap that use plates.

>are they a bad idea?

yes. it's well known that water dumbbells conduct electricity. don't take them outside because grass damages them easily

Greatest country on earth doesnt need to know these things

They're poor

>you could literally just fill a back pack with books and curl that
This is how I started lifting in highschool. I would squat wearing it backwards

actually, they do those in jail with jugs

Your dumbbell is leaking, bro

christ you are one obsessed little bitch lol

The weight will continue to decrease while you keep drinking milk. You'll just end up a fat fuck. Ha!
