I dont really know. Its probably because Ive lived in it my whole life and live in a very liberal state and town. There was unironically a headline the other day about renaming the co-op because the name might be considered racist. That was the town I went to college in too and that was when I started to realize how fucked everything was. I still had female and colored friends when I went to college. Capitalism requires an everlasting increase in efficiency. AI and machines have slowly been becoming more efficient than humans could ever wish to be. If you assume that technology is going to keep improving, then at some point the only way to be efficient is to fully automate.
That will either lead to an extreme wealth disparity between the people who have an income and the people who don't, or the collapse of capitalism due to lack of consumers. Either way it's bad news for the average person.
Capitalism might be the best system we have, but it's a sinking ship. We need to come up with a better solution before shit hits the fan.
