The McChicken

U posted it. It would be interesting if someone could make a list of bulking/healthy food that athletes use around the world.

This and other variations.

They're all Gold medalist OLY weightlifters so take this as you will.

Chanko Nabe isn't especially good bulking food. It's just that sumo wrestlers eat shit tons of it.

Kebabrolls
At some places they can easily be 1500kcal each

Chanko Babe is unironically delicious and high protein bulking food. Full of nutrients and electrolytes and dark green veggies. Also contains cabbage which is endorsed by Cato the Elder (extremely based).

Incredible easy to make. Just whip up some broth with chicken stock, s*y sauce, oyster sauce and miso paste (delicious, but not absolutely necessary) and then drop in your chicken and pork meatballs, white & green onions, ginger, garlic, bok choy, cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, etc.

Only downside is the higher sodium, but you should be sweating out in the stable practicing your hand slaps and leg sweeps anyway so not an issue.

I swear, it's so incredibly filling, but then after an hour you feel ready for another couple bowls so easy to get those calories in.

Chili and rice.
No beans.

210 calories each

How can vegetables be so good for bulking? Any Western equivalents for the ingredients used in those Sumo dishes?

Why dishes when single foods are simpler:
Peanut butter: calories, protein, fat, fiber, carbs, micros, affordable, highly available, shelf stable, can go with many dessert/breakfast
Whole milk: calories, protein, fat, carbs, micros, affordable, highly available, can go with any meal, count towards water intake, foundation for most drinks/smoothies/desserts
Save your time for training, sleeping or doing something else productive.
