Should i be eating porridge if im trying to lose weight?

Can i add porridge to my diet? if so are those flavored ones (maple and brown sugar/peachs and creme) ok? Anyone else eat porridge?

If this somehow isn't bait, you shoulf know that those flavored quaker oats are full of sugar. Just buy some plain oats and make oatmeal.

Like, they can put whatever "good for the heart" bullshit on the box, it doesn't take into account the additives they throw in.

>Anyone else eat porridge?
every morning
>1 cup of old fashioned oats
>cook halfway in microwave
>take out, add some eggs, blend it
>add some turkey sausage or other meat
>finish nuking it
>top it off with either cottage cheese or plain greek yogurt
it carries me clear to lunch, has great macros, and is the quickest, easiest meal i can scrounge up first thing in the morning in just a few minutes

>just cutting fat right now
why

You want 100% pure rolled oats. No added sugar.

>eggs

If you're cutting, go for egg white scrambles.

>1000 calorie

I know nothing of your situation, but that sounds a bit too much. Try 1200. And make sure to COUNT your calories and plan this out. As in, you weigh your shit, don't just estimate. People are horrendous at estimating. Make sure you have a nice digital scale.

Cutting meals in general should be big generous meals but low in calories. Chicken + brocolli, egg whites, etc. Sugar is your enemy, especially simple sugars.

Check out some other cutting meals:

Drink only tea, sparkling water, and water. You want your drinks to be 0 cal. Don't fall for that diet coke meme poison.

If you are cutting never drink your calories.

>If you are cutting never drink your calories.
Why? Out of interest

You drink water which has 0 cals. You drink fruit juice, soda, energy drink, etc which has 100+ calories. You will feel as full with each of them. Liquids can be packed with calories, but you don't feel it. You can drink 10 cans of soda a day and not feel it.

So instead you ensure that your drinks are 0 cal, especially on a cut.

And drink your coffee/tea stragiht with no sugar and no cream.

Liquid Calories won't make you feel full, harder to cut

Even Whole Milk?

For example I'll have a breakfast shake:
6 raw eggs
Scoop of whey
Fruit for taste
Top the rest up with malk
This is "liquid" yet calorie dense and mostly fat

I still come in at the end of the day around 1000 calories in deficit

>6 raw eggs

Uneeded. Cook those eggs.

>Even Whole Milk?

If you're cutting, you're done with whole milk. Skim milk at the very least. I'd recommend cutting milk out entirely, going for greek yoghurt, with some no sweetening almond drink. It's 30 cal per glass. As low as you can get. But it tastes like dirty water.

Yeah this. If you want porridge with fruit, add actual fruit. Add blueberries, cranberries, bananas. Its ok to eat a bowl of oatmeal. Just be careful eating too much cause you'll get the shits if you're not used to fiber.

>Even Whole Milk?

Whole milk is the first thing you cut. Never go whole. Skim at most.

It magically transforms your life energy into sweetness, you might not get fat but you will lose some life expectancy while drinking it.

what does?

I have them raw for convenience

>I have them raw for convenience

Though rare, serious disease can occur. That's a pretty fucking big inconvenience. You have 0% chance if you cook them, a tiny chance if you don't.

I'm not a burger.
Salmonella is extremely low risk in the UK. And probably everywhere that's not the US or Canada

Scooby has some other fat loss meals:

benefit is that he can't cook, and it's all quick 3 minute meals.

If you are gonna do skim just use water.

What part of "liquid calories won't make you feel full" is violated by that?

Your brain doesn't register liquid calories as being as satiating

>on a strict 1000 calorie diet

Slight doubt...post brand of scale and everything consumed in day

>Should i be eating porridge if im trying to lose weight?

Follow this:

Can confirm. Salmonella is a North American issue only. In Europe, they keep eggs at room temperature with no issues.

>Should i be eating porridge if im trying to lose weight?

Yes. Squats and Oats = big gains.

Are you going to gym? If not no white foods. Oatmeal is white so nah. But if you cant resist it's got fiber which doesnt spike your blood sugar. Common desu this is basics

>If not no white foods. Oatmeal is white so nah.

????

eat whole foods fatty.

what's the difference between whole and steel cut oats?

Anyone even try eating Quaker oatmeal dry, right out of the package? It's my secret cheat meal. The shit is so good it might as well be heroin.

>The shit is so good it might as well be heroin.

Cuz you're eating sugary shit you fool.

I didn't say it wasn't surgary. It's just a uniquely fantastic combination of flavor.

>It's just a uniquely fantastic combination of flavor.

It's sugar you retard.

Goddamn I miss that stuff. Still have some stashed in the break room at work. It tempts me sometimes.

Having your wife cook you breakfast is faster, in a way.

>western women
>cook
I mean, if you can find one that can, good job, but the odds are not in your favour
