Toxic masculinity

>toxic masculinity

What the fuck does that even mean? i hear that word thrown around alot but never understood the concept. Is it just being a dominant male thats considered toxic ?

Who fucking knows and who fucking cares, to me its all female drivel

this one is mostly targeting chads, no?

Its another chance for toxic narcissistic women to abuse low status men who were sheltered and brought up by domineering mothers.

I realize that its all an attack at people like me and thats why its best that I avoid women.

just a bullshit buzzword, women love those douchebags.

At its core, its just the preoccupation of adhering to retarded stereotypes in order to fit in with being a real man. E.g acting like movie chad.

From my limited understanding, toxic masculinity is promoting aspects of masculinity that could potentially be damaging to someone. Saying that a man shouldn't feel emotions, should be set between either stoic or rage, shouldn't ever show pain or hurt, shouldn't be sensitive.

Essentially, toxic masculinity is the promotion of the stereotypical Chad ideal onto people that don't necessarily know how to handle it.

haha no, silly user. it's targeted at any man going against the feminist agenda.

The same thing as "big dick energy" it's just In this instance you don't like the person.... fucking American leftists are autistic user they're full of shit they're entire reality hinges on you believe everything they say....don't believe me watch the joke that is "Hypernormalisation" dumbest documentary I've ever seen and I've seen some pretty dumb shit from the history channel.

It's a stupid phrase made up by sjws and feminists that implies a man acting like an Alpha male is "toxic".

What I don't understand is why so many here dismiss it when it actually justifies and explains why most are the way they are

masculinity is toxic when it is displayed by a sub8 man.

Expressed/internalized socially masculine behaviors that are harmful to the self or to others.

That's how it's meant to be used anyway, it's mostly just a blanket for any behavior feminists dislike.

Indeed, "toxic masculinity" is code for "beta, non-chad masculinity".

Kind of funny that 'toxic masculinity' gets so much shit when it's one of the most valid ideas that SJWs have. I've found machismo annoying since elementary school.

it's got something to do with forcing ideal male standards like being ripped and shit like that but words mean whatever you want nowadays so for all I know it could be the opposite

adam curtis is a basically a looney, century of self is his only decent documentary. everything else he has done is full conspiritard crap

It's an intentionally vague definition that allows people to construct a slippery slope between rape and being rude on tinder.

Bro, I've had some old leftist friends that praised that shit like it was gospel. I'm a centrist and I enjoy diversity of thought, but I absolutely cannot be friends with leftists nowadays. Their entire argument has so many holes in it and you need to be a complete brainlet to accept their current political position.

>all positive expression of the male gender is to the oppression of the female gender and needs to be minimized and subverted for society to be equal
>society would be a better place if all men acted like flaming camp dragqueen gays
This is what the phrase currently means. It has changed drastically from dictionary definitions in the same way that words like "racist" or "problematic" have.
Changing definitions of words is a method of narrative control.

Because:

>shouldn't feel emotions
There's a big difference between having normal emotional reactions and being an absolute whiny faggot
>should be set between either stoic or rage
No one thinks being angry is a good thing. I actually wish I could be more stoic because I think I get a bit too overly emotional at times. Stoicism is a sign of inner strength
>shouldn't ever show pain or hurt
If a man is genuinely in pain he won't care what others think, pain is painful. That being said you shouldn't collapse into a crying heap over a minute amount of pain
>shouldn't be sensitive
Again, thin line between being sensitive and being a pussy

To sum it up, feel free to do you but don't act all shocked when people think you're obnoxious

Part of suffering from delusions is that you're not aware it's a delusion. That's what makes it so hard to break through to them. In this case, the delusion is extremely harmful and stunting to their emotional growth, but also comforting since it provides excuses and external targets for venting their self loathing. The longer you've been in the delusion the harder it is to get out, because there are so many coping mechanisms in place to hold you in place, to make you hate change and maintain status quo even if you're miserable in status quo.

It's the opposite. It's the codified rule of double standards. Everything a high value Chad male does is good, everything a low value beta does is bad. Not that anyone who uses that phrases seriously will admit it.

No, actually. Toxic masculinity is what happens when robots try to imitate chad. Women hate it, and it ultimately just causes robots misery.

Because it gets thrown around by women who use it as an excuse to bash men. Analogous to racists who criticize "black culture" as an intellectually dishonest loophole for disliking black people.

It's when you try to act like an alpha male but the girl knows you're faking it and just a onions boy beta cuck material. If a real alpha chad thunder cock did what you just did that was "toxic masculinity" that same girl would be ass up panties down ready for alpha cock.
But when you try to do it. It's just ugly.

The problem is the difference between feminist theory, which is often pretty reasonable, and the real-world usage, where it's used as a "win this argument" button against any defense of any masculine virtue.

Same with mansplaining. There's a real and measurable phenomena where men are more likely to talk over women, but most of the time the term is thrown around, it's because there's an argument going on and someone wants a weapon to help them win it.

>I've found machismo annoying since elementary school
How many months HRT?

What aspects of masculinity aren't considered toxic?

This.

Feminism is stealth darwinism. It's a safeguard against non-Chad genes

I noticed this myself with the "arguing against tone" idea. It's a valid concept at times, assuming that the person in question does have a legitimate reason to become frustrated enough or emotional enough to adopt that sort of tone, but most SJWs who bring up the argument just want a blank check to be complete assholes without being held accountable for it.

>Kavanaugh was a chad
>still was accused of toxic masculinity

plz explain, user

oh, here's the answer.

It's a way of gaslighting men on geocentrism.
>women only select the boss of the group
>men compete
>HURRR, TOXIC MASCULINITY
No. It's packaged that way, but like everything else (sexual harassment, etc), it's only ever USED against uggos.

GYNOCENTRISM
fucking auto correct

all great points, but on this hellsite that's high above-average emotional intelligence.

Yeah. And if you get baited into saying that mansplaining or tone policing are stupid, all the ordinary non-radical-feminist women think you're denying that they get talked over or that you're trying to invalidate any and all emotional arguments, and so you've annoyed women who you'd potentially have agreed with.

It's hard to tell whether rhetorical tactics in politics have always this dirty or not. It feels like it's getting worse.
