It's important not to get memed into a routine, choose one that works for you depending on how often you can go. I like splitting muscle groups up so I can deal with DOMS.

Once you're intermediate on the far end, you basically have to modify something that works for you.
I workout body parts twice a week, my arms and calves are lagging so they're on a 3x schedule now.
Eat enough, sleep enough. It isn't rocket science.

The idea of only doing something 2x is to not overfatigue but then doing something 3x is to make progress faster then that doesn't make sense, why not train everything mich more often if he thinks training more often will speed up progress?

I'm currently on 3day Texas method template, that I have modified by adding more chin ups and accessories like incline DB presses, hammer curls, DB shoulder presses and face pulls. I replaced power cleans with front squats, because I had not front squatted, before I did Texas method and doing power cleans before learning to properly front squat is retarded.
