You're confusing avoidants and schizoids.

They're sometimes difficult to tell apart, because schizoids have no need for human contact, and avoidants desperately desire human contact but are determined to make sure no one else can tell they desire it. Avoidants are pretending to be schizoid but suffering as they do so.

So if you desire human contact but find those contacts so stressful that you (cough, cough) avoid them, you're avoidant, not schizoid.
