That's the curious thing, apparently they do. That's part of the deal I found most interesting initially. It's fine if you think the majority of humanity got the shape of the Earth/Cosmos wrong, but why the censorship and vitriol?

Eric Dubay, the most prominent educator on the Flat Earth was terminated from YouTube, and following his termination multiple channels went up immediately ridiculing the idea and "debunking" it. Vsauce and a multitude of other PopSci channels immediately started doing extensive damage control. Late night talk shows started doing opening segments and interviews with celebrities like Neil DeGrasse Tyson ridiculing the idea of Flat Earth.

I have no Idea what I should be seeing here.
Don't you know that Camera technology changes and that no camera actually gives an entirely accurate reproduction?
You could have taken all of these pictures with a couple of different modern smartphones, just by changing the sensor and a few settings.

Obviously the Earth is not literally a pancake. The oceans, mountains and landscape in general is not completely flat. What is meant by the Flat Earth is that the shape is much closer to ancient maps and theological descriptions than it is to mainstream science's depiction, which is highly suspect. See pic related for the general idea.

It was understood by many in the ancient and recent past, and today if you are researcher into the occult, that the Earth is a plane and the celestial bodies are spheres. Reasoning can vary, but ultimately the celestial bodies are regarded as beings and tools at the same time. Vehicles, if you will.

The solstices are due to the rhythmic expansion and contraction of the Sun and Moon. Some folks have made models for this, can find them on YouTube.

The Sun moves out of sight on its path in a circuit across the Earth. It seems to disappear or "go beneath the horizon" due to the nature of the horizon, which is a limitation of the visual senses.

Apart from ad hominems, your group doesn't have a lot of evidence to support your claim of a spherical Earth.

If you actually work out the physics and maths like I did, you might see that the Flat Earth hypothesis holds some weight.

1. In your planetary model the source of sunlight is described as an orb floating some 40k km above ground wasn’t it?
So for the current night-day cycles and the way sulighit hits earth to make sense, that orb would nescessarily need to have something to cast shadow on it wouldn’t it? Otherwise the orb would shoot light rays in all directions therefore all of the planets surface would be enlightened simoutaneously (daylight in Brazil and japan at the same time, possibly same hour)
That implies that something cast shadow on the orb.
Does it has a massive lightbulb or something? Is it a cosmic flashlight? Like an UFO?
2. Why governments would lie about this tho? I understand liyng about ayys, the jews and divine things but the shape of the planet?

I did all my scratchwork months ago in old notebooks, I have no idea where those would be. Besides the problems that needed attention did not require proofs of gluons and other high-end ideas.

Good question. The Sun in the Flat Earth model is much smaller than the Sun needs to be in the spherical Earth model. Just as light from a lightbulb does not appear to extend infinitely for our eyes, the same can be observed for the Sun in the Flat Earth model.

If folks found out that they were lied to about something as fundamental and important as the shape of the Earth, they might begin to question everything about their reality and consequently their governments.

I always imagined flat earth to be sort of an Aristocrats joke or thought experiment among talented debaters. The idea being "how good of an argument can I create for an idea that both my opponent and I know to be false."

Either that or its a tactic to make all conspiracy minded individuals look dumb by proxy.

If everyone knew the truth that we lived on a flat earth and the stars weren't other universes, what would people think then? Selling them evolution would be near impossible. How did our flat earth get here? Explaining how we just float in the middle of nothingness would be impossible. Are we falling? Etc, etc, etc.

I'll try to ignore the straw mans he whips out throughout the video and address his major points.

At :41 he brings up how "increasingly diagonal gravity" would "skew" the Earth. If this were true then we would not have mountains for instance. Or perhaps we would have mountains but they would be on top of some kind of sloping angle slanting towards the North pole. As he says at 1:50, "this planet shape, is of course, impossible."

At 2:00 he states that a flat Earth would "naturally collapse under its own weight...would collapse into a ball". What is an accretion disk? Among numerous other examples in nature where gravity does not distort matter into a sphere.

2:28 "Christopher Columbus discovered that the Earth is round." Enough said.

3:00 "...the spherical Earth became accepted as HISTORICAL fact." Note the nuance of saying historical, rather than scientific.
