I need more hobbies

What does Jow Forums like to do other than workout? I draw/paint and read sci-fi books but it’s not enough.

I enjoy masturbating to hentai

I listen to audiobooks and go on 10km walks. Listening to Necronomicom and then pattern recognition by William Gibson. I also fap to tranny porn and drink. That's basically my main hobbies. I play Vidya sometimes but not much.

Attached: D3_AlUNWAAAhTHh.jpg (1600x1200, 273K)

swim, sauna, jordan peterson, read, meditate (need to more), obsess over my ex neurotically but I am improving, write a journal, avoid porn (not always but I try)
clean my room
not smoke pot

I take care of plants

I find that evans guy looks like an obvious closet case

A lot of Hollywood actors are fags, some of them where diddled by producers as kids. It's not a big secret

Nothing right now, I'd like to pick up the guitar and and piano
Trying to learn proper Arabic and Finnish, already know a bit of both
Long term goal would be to learn Armenian
Getting into a martial art seems like a lot of fun but that might be too much in addition to lifting 4x/week
Need to start reading more and use the interwebs less.

I have a garden that used to be a mess of weeds when I moved in, I love being out there with dirt up to both elbows. I have a little sailboat that I sometimes take out in nice weather. I go for walks around sunset with a camera and take shots of anything cool I might find. I've hiked up pretty much every hill around my city. My cousin has a workshop where he builds random shit like a still, a toboggan, custom picture frames, cabinet-making and joinery. I guess the hardest part is just having space to do these things.

Any good space colonization recommendations?

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein is a killer novel about a moon colony, if that works for you

>obsess over my ex neurotically
Its ok bro, it goes away eventually.

that totally does thanks my dude. I just read Tiger! Tiger! and needed another scifi fix.

Run, read, golf, fly.

Cars. It’s a bit expensive to get into, but you can make a little money off of it if you know what you’re doing. Rebuilding junkyard transmissions is always a fun project. Here’s my latest catch, a 5-speed manual from a Jeep Cherokee. These are high demand, so they’re hard to find for less than $6-700 with all the accessories. All said and done, this will be about $500. Once I rebuild it I’ll put it in my own Jeep and sell the current trans for $2-300 to help offset the costs.

Based.
Cars are fun, guns are fun as hell too.
Im working on my 95 k1500 at the moment, flywheel fucked off and Im replacing the entire ignition system as well.

Ooo
Post Chebby. What engine?

I like riding motorcycles. I know it's kind of stereotypical of the douchebag muscle biker but it's fun to go fast.

No worries my dude. A little tip for you: read the dialogue in a Russian accent. It'll make sense when you see it.

If you have the money camping, traveling, cars and guns are pretty much on the top of the list for me

>Camping
>Actually doing an out/back or day hike if you can stand it and keep going
>Hiking through a blizzard/snow season in the mountains
>Cars
>Fishing is actually a great hobby but I dont do this on a weekly basis, i have a few local guys i see out here trout fishing every weekend and its what they do but i couldnt see myself going fishing every fucking week
>Guns
>Collecting
>Technology stuff
>Reading
>Lifting
>(Some shit I want to try this year)
>Mountain climbing
>Rafting on the river
>Mountain biking, I have a place where I can hit the trails on a mountain bike or just walk around and I'm looking at bikes right now since its a good hobby to get into
>Mediation is also something i woldn't say is a hobby but a must in life, I sometimes skip/forget but if I mediate daily my life outlook changes
>Not sure if i mentioned this but camping in the middle of the night, watching the starts and sky with no light pollution and just a campfire going, cant be explained in words... camping is probably one of my favorite hobbies
Not to forget but being out there in the woods around elk, deer, coyotes and nature in general is amazing

Bonsai, draw, cook, tea, jui jitsu, run, listen to podcasts and drive to towns around me that are supposed to be nice.

Pic is some quiche I made recently

drawing and painting can be more than enough if you really try but i get that you want variety. my stuff is shit i can do in the comfort of my room. hobby electronics, drone construction and scale model building.

i tried getting into cars and other "manly" hobbies but i find that they just are too inconvenient. I would like to take up boxing again though. I feel i need something like that in my life again.

Most dialogue is in Russian accents anymore. I listened to the Bear and the Nightingale audiobook and it did me in.

pick the nationality of foreign women you want to have sex with, learn their language

>but it’s not enough
Why is it not enough?

Learn French
Play football on Sundays with my friends
Play guitar/sing every so often
Play games
Watch rugby
Read

That's pretty much what my week looks like in addition to getting smashed and going clubbing on weekends.

Respect for that quiche, looks pretty delicious.

Jordan Peterson spits empty platitudes about masculinity for low test men. You should feel bad for giving him the time of day.

He's an extremely smart man and I never get tired of brainlets calling him a doo-doohead as if that's any sort of answer to his well reasoned and researched arguments.

I'm not saying he doesn't have a point. It's just that his platitudes about masculinity aren't really that insightful and are for men who have failed at life as a whole

Recreational shooting was something I picked up at 16 when my dad offered to take me to the range.

Got into self defense and conceal carry when I was 21, going to start boxing and maybe even wrestling now. I do competitive shooting on the side, it’s a lot of fun.

Cooking is another great one.

I like to build computers, go fishing, hiking, cycling around town and reading. Fiction, mostly horror, police procedural and mystery. Non-fiction, WW2 history, and selected topics in psychology and criminology.

I also play and collect /vr/ hardware.

I play music. Violin, viola, and guitar. Trying to put together a solo black metal album in the summer.

See, this isn't very persuasive. You sound like a child, and you're trying way too hard. But if it makes you happy by all means keep it up.

Archery, which I compete in as well as hunt.
Martial arts.
Bushwalks.
Reading.
About 9 months in to playing the guitar, although I've done zero structured learning. Just read tabs and practice riffs, licks and solos that I like. Will start some structured learning in coming months, when I get a nice guitar and decent Amp.
I like to cook.
Not a hobby, but I work on cars at least once a week to help people, or fix my own shit, I suppose helping mechanically retarded friends and family is the real hobby.
Ride motorcycle.
Camping.
Fishing.

Man I'm a dabbler of the worst kind. 2 years ago it was guns and I was researching everything from how they work to how to maintain them like I'm gonna become a fucking gunsmith. Last year it was fishing and I was gathering info like I was gonna be a master angler in my state. This year? Leather shoes/boots and puzzles.

Not that guy, but it's rather strange that someone versed in psychology and the rule of thumb that "all personality traits are heritable to a greater or lesser extent" can't or won't apply that to political views at the population level - which is as demonstrable as group IQ differences, which while he dances around he seems to believe in.

Attached: 20181029_192019a.jpg (1200x1324, 953K)

Man thats so fucking cool. Good on you user.

Lmao
Triggerd

I think you'd find if you ever got in a room and asked him that question that he would embarrass you within 10 seconds by pointing out the actual reasons for group disparity in IQ or whatever metric you're talking about. The truth is that if he ever said something along those lines, brainlets would immediately use it as an excuse to call him a racist, and he would spend the next 6 months explaining shit like environmental factors to people on a 5th grade level. He's too smart for that, so naturally he avoids the subject and focuses on areas where he can actually improve things. If you really want answers to this sort of question, read "Guns Germs & Steel" by Jared Diamond. He's actually got the expertise to answer the question conclusively.

Hey, at least you made an actual argument, sort of

>"Guns Germs & Steel" by Jared Diamond.
YIKES!!!

I want to wrench my car but I'm too poor. Most of my time revolves around music, mostly practicing but some writing. I'm a big coffee snob, so I guess making and enjoying coffee.

>environmental factors
And yet, IQ seems to be a pretty large one, explaining perhaps a third of nations' per capita GDP.

>being an unironic geographic determinist
There's a wonderful little book called "Why Nations Fail" that rips Diamond's geographic hypothesis to shreds without getting touching on heredity or genetics (which you'd just dismiss out hand/not understand).

Very cool and based

Attached: 1367044295880.png (1141x720, 1.3M)

The book actually presents a good argument, obviously geography matters when it comes to what a group of people is capable of achieving.

Leather boots? How is that a hobby user?

Nice! I want to get in to sailing myself.

I'm pretty sure I will read it and when I do I'll find that it in no way contradicts Diamond's hypothesis, but I guess I'll just take your word for it? I don't really argue with zealots who use ad hom, no matter what the topic is. Eat my ass and bye.

>basic anthropology reading material

Attached: 1554752936180.jpg (750x725, 62K)

presumably peterson is truthpilled on the heritability of IQ, but since it's so politically poisonous he'll never ever say it out loud to anyone. "environmental factors" is a hilarious cop out. (fun fact: the flynn effect stopped working decades ago)

Attached: 41539_2017_5_Fig1_HTML.jpg (966x695, 41K)

Just learning how to care for them properly and get that mirror polish on the shoes.

Since you've made it clear you don't like the hereditarian argument, I'm suggesting something that critiques Diamond from a non-hereditarian point-of-view, which you will presumably find more palatable.

I thought the Flynn Effect persisted and everyone got smarter, but the relative black-white IQ gap remained mostly unchanged

>since it's so politically poisonous he'll never ever say it out loud to anyone
Pretty much exactly what I said. As for the rest, maybe you should read the book before you critique it?

And I told you I will probably read it, as it's related to me interests and you're not the first person to mention it.

Anyway, my main point is that political views are heritable, and that makes JP's recommendations dubious at the national/policy level. At the personal level, he gives pretty good advice.

Camping, fishing, or just going out in the woods and chopping deadfall into firewood. The woods around my house are littered with piles of firewood since I never take it out. Just chop up dead trees and make a neat little stack.

If you don’t live near the woods, just hit an old tire with a sledge hammer.

same bro, except to western cartoon like shadman

Man, I have no problem with that. As long as you're not misrepresenting his arguments and shouting YIKES every time someone mentions his name, you're good with me. Why can't people separate issues from personalities

Meditation like my hero Geralt of Rivia.

One explanation is that people are getting dumber because the education system is getting dumber. Ironically, Peterson (among others) has gone into how and why that's happening in great detail. If you want to hear it you can watch this: youtu.be/v-hIVnmUdXM

Well, when you see political views in the context of being heritable personality traits, it makes the kvetching that JP, Shapiro, et. al. do about identity politics (which is outside the scope of JP at his best, a compassionate internet dad in a "generation of men raised by women") seems really silly and pointless, if not self-defeating.

Camille Paglia irl trolling all sorts of people is a gift. I don't agree with her generally, but her iconoclasm is always entertaining.

Okay, seeing as I'm ignorant of your point of view, how about you explain how identity politics is NOT poisonous (although it fucking is) and if you agree it's poisonous, then what would be a better strategy for dealing with it in your opinion?

education doesn't effect your IQ score: you learn more things, but that doesn't touch your raw ability to learn things: psych.colorado.edu/~carey/pdfFiles/IQ_Neisser2.pdf

if learning things increased your IQ, then it should always increase over time, rather than do, well, what you see here

Attached: Age-decline-in-intelligence.jpg (817x487, 72K)

>carve shit out of wood
>go cross country skiing in winter
>trying to get into tricking

I jack off to shadman too

I want to have sex with Raven.

It's not degenerate if they're clothed and you don't break eye contact user

Attached: 7ybj2w0frev.png (452x618, 322K)

I don't think identity politics are poisonous. I think they're natural. For example, take a look at the Libertarian Party, which broadly stands for individualism and less government. It's also primarily white. The Democrat party, which broadly espouses more collectivist policies and bigger government, attracts something like 60% of Asian voters. Populations ergo seem to gravitate towards certain political views - and for partially genetic reasons (there are few studies, but it's late, so just grant this conjecture).

So when you have different distinct ethnicities, identity politics are inevitable because those ethnicities differ in heritable traits - including political views. To put it in other words, identity politics are what happens in democracies when different tribes reach sizes that they threaten each other - with tribalism being strongest among those minorities most threatened by the core population.

Fencing. Unironically.

How long where you with her?
I was with my ex for 2 years and when we finally split I thought about her everyday for over a year.
At around a year and a half it subsided to basically just reminiscing and smiling over good times and hot sex every once in a while.
I dont think it ever completely goes away though, but instead of spending 90% of your time thinking about them, you drop to about a 2% of the time.
