Back when I started frequenting (around 2010-11 maybe?) I recall the term "robot" used for people who acted as part of society, but not actually being included in it because they are not a real human, but a robot. A robot was someone who had a job, studied, maybe had some sort of social circle of acquaintances, but no real friends and often felt misunderstood and isolated from society. I had a conversation with a guy on here, once. We were talking about the differences between being lonely and being alone. I suffered from some traumatic events in my early teens. I hid it all and pretended I was fine. I spent most of my teenage years and early 20s engaged in school at first and university later, with a social circle and a stable boyfriend. I was incredibly depressed and just wearing a mask, all the time.
