you can have thick hairs and thick growth, but perhaps you have thick growth but thin fibers -- the hairs aren't strong enough to support themselves at long length, so they flop over. a good stylist will be able to help you out.

Dont shampoo or condition your hair. Just let cool water run through it 8n the shower. My hair only gets washed when I get my hair cut every 3 weeks and my hairdresser is always remarking on how thick and straight it is. I'm able to go for a semi messy style with little to no product.
