your pan is too hot if you're charring the chicken. lower your heat and flip it more often
alternatively, cook it in the oven

anything above "medium" setting on a stove top burner is for boiling water.

Try somewhere just under medium to get the pan to intiial temp, then once the chicken is in the pan, reduce slightly more

Also, are you using any oil in the pan?

Also cut back sugar in the marinade.

what the fuck have you done

1. put salt, pepper, chili powder, cayenne pepper on one side of chicken breasts
2. put ghee in pan and put the stove on full head until it melts
3. set stove to about 3/4 heat and wait 30 secs
4. put in chicken breasts for roughly 2 mins
5. keep checking if they get desired color after 1 minute, in case it's too hot
6. flip over and season again with salt, peppers etc.
7. repeat 4 and 5
8. put chicken breasts in oven in glass bowl on 200° C/392° F for about 20 minutes

You're done. Perfect chicken breasts just like mama made them.
You can caramelize onions before the chicken and add those in the bowl, too.

You wanna minimize the time in the pan for chicken, otherwise it's too dry or whatever than tumor on your chicken is.

Op i'll also add that the pan temp for me is around 270 degrees f. I check with instant read thermometer cause im an autistic moron.

I'll normally cook it for about 5 or 4:30 on each side (minutes obviously). Try it and see what you get lad. Just make sure you cook it long enough or the thick part of the chicken will be raw in the middle and thats a meal wasted.

If you can use a meat tenderizer and just bang it out so its an even thickness. You want the chicken to have some sort of thickness to it so it has a bite and isn't thin shit.

If you go this method just cook for 4 min and 30 seconds and you should be good to go.

Also with any sort of pan cooking make sure you have enough oil in the pan. Tablespoon should be good enough.
