Dear fitizens, how mouch of your own bodyweight should you be lifting on the regular?
I just read some article say 133% of your BW if you are a beginner. I have been lifting for maybe 4 months and have only been lifting about 85-95% of my BW. I hadn't even thought about it until now. Have I been a total faggot, or is the article just ambitious?

Forgot to mention I am talking deadlifts.

90% if youre a beginner after 4 months is good, but it also depends on what kinda lifts youre doing. Novice should start at 50% just so they can get the lifts down and make a few mistakes without injuring themselves.

That article is ambivalent because people are going to have different bodyweight multipliers of what they can lift depending on how big they are. Example, Ray Williams has squatted 490kg raw, but weighs over 180kg. That's a little over 2.5x bodyweight and for an elite powerlifter is a garbage bodyweight multiplier, but the weight is nearly untouchable by anybody else.

MODS

Thanks for the answers. I started out at around 70% of my bodyweight because I was afraid of messing up the technique.

Here is the article by the way;
