Why is this website so unbelievably unfunny?

I don't think the history bears that out. The upvote system was producing TONS of content that wasn't "safe normie expression". That's why management abandoned the upvote system in favor of "upvote system PLUS we delete anything we don't like and ban the users and close their subreddits".

This, voting systems and social media are actually a ploy to tame the internet and make it less accepting of controversiality

Ya there's definitely some sliding in support of contrarianism and bait but at least posts are in chronological order and if you are unpopular each post still exists in a vacuum. Jow Forums remains actual counterculture despite the influx of normies but unfortunately rewards the_donald normies due to the bait thing.

Because it is only useful for discussion in niche/hobby oriented communities, basically anything that doesn't reach the frontpage. You have to avoid EVERYTHING default/meme/wholesome/animal related on this site to make it bearable

Right. I'm not saying Jow Forums is nearly as bad, but it's not perfect either. I don't have a better solution, though.

mods are absolute subhuman garbage and claim to be incredibly progressive and tolerant while delete shit they disagree with. users are primarily left-leaning degenerates that circlejerk their dumb ass opinions. karma system is trash too. some subreddits are fine though like r/wsb.

If Jow Forums is a hub for all wrong thinkers it's only because the rest of the internet made it that way by banning wrong think, making them still the primary offenders of the truth.

I don't know. I made a reddit account and tried to use it, but I literally can't figure out how the website works. I think you need to be brain damaged to use it, like common core.
