Tokyo Ghoul stopped making sense around the second season though, and a lot of people tend to say it's because of the way it's directed, that the manga makes more sense over all or some bs, more informative or something, if this is true maybe reading the manga first would be a better idea than starting the anime, but I can't confirm.

I thought, and continue to think, that anime is a terrible form of media due to its obsessive degeneracy. That said, the few shows I was able to stomach were Cowboy Bebop, Serial Experiments Lain, Ghost in a Shell, Evangelion (sorta), and idk probably Naruto and Dragon Ball for the nostalgia. Its seriously a shit medium and idk how you guys watch it. Some anime films are great tho like Akira and Princess Mononoke.

if you want some robot shit you should watch Serial Experiments Lain, /a/ considers it to be one of the best anime ever, personally I think its good but not GOAT tier by all means

since a lot of people are posting anime recomandations already im gonna teach you a few thing about actually watching anime:
>don't start with a long show like naruto, bleach etc because thats how you get autism and by the time you know it you will be watching supbar shows with subpar characters
>learn to bingewatch, 12 episodes isn't much
>don't watch certain anime just for the genre, sometimes anime about things you have no interest in can be really fucking good
>don't watch moeshit or things with heavy fanservice and waifu pandering, you don't want to be that guy
>make a backlog and update it every time you finish something new
>don't jump straight into seasonal anime, start with the clasics
>always watch subs, dubs are subpar trash
>always torrent, never watch online
