OMAD is more effective but I would recommend you to start with intermittent fasting and then switch to OMAD

This is also why OMAD and intermittent fasting are the shittiest memes Jow Forums came up with. Your body will try to preserve calories. You'll be feeling sloggy, hungry and weak. Fasting is far superior to those. As long as you do it properly (i.e. don't do what's written in the OP of /fast/ thread).

tl;dr fasting for around 16 hours starts burning the fat that usually gets saved for last by your body
It's water retention. After he recovered his face went back to normal.
What worked fucking great for me was three 36 hour water fasts per week. It's recommended by Dr. Fung as the best for fat loss and he also uses it for improving patients with diabetes.
