Grand Budapest Hotel and Isle of Dogs. Watch them and understand true enlightenment user.

A Scanner Darkly is really good. I'm also a fan of Trainspotting, Natural Born Killers, Snatch, Taxi Driver, Falling Down... a lot of the typical robot movies desu

>Isle of dogs
It sucks, if OP wants the Wes experience should watch fantastic mr fox

Nolan is a hack that rips other stuff off
he ripped off perfect blue and paprika

The Road and Plague Dogs are kino

Memento is also a favourite of mine, tied with the original 12 Angry Men and The Sting.

Reservoir Dogs, Donnie Darko, Naked Lunch

original ideas are overrated
everyone ripps off everyone all the time
execution matters more

I haven't watched too many of his films, how'd he rip them off?

>plague dogs
truly a patrician choice
for me it's going to be brazil though

he just straight up copies entire scenes and plots
and claims he doesn't even know what perfect blue and paprika is

It's impossible to say one film is the best ever, but if I HAVE to pick one it's Citizen Kane. Re-invented the language of modern film. Incredible performance from Orson Welles. Beyond that, it's just an exceptionally well told story about life, aging, regret and loss, with the depth of character of a great novel.

paying homage to another film is a-okay in my book, but yeah if this is true, my respect for him as a filmmaker just flew out the window

This is one of my favorite films. I try to get people to watch it, but they won't because it has sub titles.

If you like mystery and SciFi films then you must watch 'Primer'. Do let me know how it was.

>citizen kane is the best film ever made

Dis is pretty good

The most dull fucking film I've ever seen, lives purely on the premise alone

>The most dull fucking film I've ever seen, lives purely on the premise alone
wrong

what is there to like about scanner darkly? other than the suicide scene it was pretty boring and pointless

Recently I started liking A Serious Man. It's the perfect mix of funny and depressing.
you are thinking of aranofsky, not nolan. memento was a story nolan's brother wrote or something.

primer is pretty boring

damn your right, fuck that guy should be sued
didn't nolen rip off paprika with inception or something though?
i wanted to try memento but i hated interstellar so i dunno.

The Road is literally 2deep4u

It's kinda like Texhnolyz x the last of us

i remember that aranofsky bought the rights to perfect blue so he oculd remake the bathtub scene.
i dont know about paprika desu.
memento doesnt really have much in common with interstellar. but why did you hate it?

Mines got to be Zulu, then Alien and Black hawk down in that order

the good, the bad and the ugly. best soundtrack of any movie ever, total based spaghetti western. fucking suspenseful as fuck, you'll wonder how those 3 hours went with the snap of a finger

It's hard to pick a favourite, but Brazil and Videodrome are up there. House, Pink Flamingos, Perfect Blue and Big Man Japan are also frequently watched.

based cronenberg

If you think Primer was boring, you weren't paying attention.

no i understand it is supposed to be the most detail oriented time travel movie but it has nothing else going for it

memento is fucking boring, having to watch the same shit over and over again gets tiring

but you literally dont see the same scene twice?

I watched a few Japanese film noir from the /tv/ essential guide
Surprisingly it was pretty good, didn't realize Japs could make films in an American genre based off a German genre pretty well

The bad sleep well and stray dog was all I saw but they were pretty good
