You could do some post-prod on that to really polish it so your voice doesnt sound quite so much like an ASMR video because its a bit too close to my head (presence)! Beautifully constructed song, the second song is pretty tight. Whoever was doing the dishes in the background was doing a stellar job on percussion.

I normally draw with my right hand. I just mused over how ill-equipped the left hand was with handling a pencil, and only can utilize one by thinking what its counterpart normally does. It's like a child mimicking its parent while they're driving. It's interesting to think about.

Vocal training like the other user said is a step in the right direction, like not just for getting the sound right but also getting you to step it up a notch to becoming a confident man. You obviously have song writing skills and can do more with a guitar than I can (i have fucked up fingers). The difference between you and others with a guitar is just confidence. If you have a face for radio, thats even better because its harder.

It's a shame to say, though, that my left hand artwork doesn't look too dissimilar from my right-hand work. If I put in more effort on my left hand, it would've looked near-identical to anything else I could manage.

I've got some ideas for a 2D run-and-gun game with a very simple plot.

Got any advice for a new drawer? My biggest problem right now is knowing what to draw, the same feeling you get when you don't know how to start an essay.

Depends on what you draw. Some prefer portraits, others people/characters, and a few prefer landscapes. For the second, I recommend drawing poses.

I know this is autistic, but I'll have to commend Jojo for its erratic poses. You can tell that Araki was trying to be flexible about his capacity to draw the human figure. So if you want to perfect your person-drawing, put them in whatever pose you'd think would test your skill. It pays off after a while.

Back again, and I don't have anything lined up for my next monthly short. I'm happy I made it this far but I have no clue what I want to make this month. I thought I had an idea, but I'm too nervous to talk to who I was gonna have as my main actress (bad decision on my part). They are generated based on language groups with their own morphology. Basically I make a bunch of language families from which I draw from to make names.

That's a really sweet lil' bit there. Was visualizing it nice and clear, reminded me of some of the stuff I've written/made. There's not really much to say, maybe make it clearer that the boxing match (a much more fun alternative to the Devil/Angel on the shoulder dynamic) is in his head. Might also consider making Sam just that much more of an asshole. Other than that, pretty great stuff.

Cool man. It's good to see another write fag in here, these threads are usually dominated by music and art. I can understand though since of course it's usually pages of shit and who the hell wants to go through all of that even on good faith.

I like your script, you make imagery appear very nicely, I actually really like the way it ended, blending the fantasy and the office together. If you wanted an honest critique I could say I think the dialogue could use work, there's a certain element of cheesiness to it which I think is deliberate just due to the nature of the sketch, but at times it was a bit eye-rolley, kind of like "yes yes I see what you're doing here".

I usually write short stories, in fact I have submitted 3 recently and I am trying not to think about them. But the other day I went to this bar which was owned by this Japanese woman and she hired only girls, none of them really attractive to be honest, all of them playing a sort of matronly, traditional role behind the bar, they were all like the typical 50s/60s housewife hostesses but not in any regressive way, because I mean the bar was woman owned and woman run so the sense was that they were in charge of course. I don't know why but the dynamic was so cool, it felt very classy and I have not been able to stop thinking about a short film about that place, those four girls as the characters, something like 5 different vignettes.

Yeah dialogue is really my weak point, I try to structure my stories so that the dialogue is one person trying to find out something from the other to mask the amateurish writing. I'm kinda hoping that the actors will be able to ad lib a bit to save my lines but I gotta get a boxing ring somehow first!

That setting of female characters is really cool and has sort of spawned a subgenre of its own. Off the top my head the films Our Little Sister and Eat Drink Man Woman feature this kind of dynamic which is super intriguing. On the literature side I'm thinking of Makioki Sisters by the one and only Junichirou Tanizaki. In any case I think that premise is very ripe for exploring women's expectations and roles set by society, family and each other.

I wouldn't mind reading one of your short stories if you're comfortable with sharing!

Which is an old script I began to write. I was trying to do a detective series set in Australia but I realised the original idea was super cringey and made for shock value. I rarely write in the medium of script so I'm not the best judge but I'm pretty proud of the overall writing.
