Well, most areas in Russia are really bad. Moscow, St. Petersburg and several other cities in the European part are pretty good though.

One of the worst things about the Soviets is that they went after religion and the churches. So many were destroyed, especially in Moscow. But there are still tons of them left, so you are more than welcome to visit.
