It's just a goal bro and it makes people feel good when they get it. I could bench 135 for reps when I first started lifting so it wasn't a big deal to me but benching 225 was. I thought that once I hit that I'd be in peak physical shape. Once I hit 225 for one I wanted to make it 5 times. I'm there and now I want to hit 315. The race just never stops and it's good to put goals so you don't get bored

I finally got to 20kg on each side then quit the gym for months. I went back and tried 15kg each side and failed my first rep and had no spotter lmao. I managed to wriggle from under the bar and the gym dude was like are you okay bro as I ran away to commit sudoku.

Based, now work your way up to benching 2, im proud of you

There is no shame in failure, i failed the first time i benched 60kg and some old guy had to save me cause i didn't know how to roll of shame. I learned the value of working to failure and i have helped others who have been in the same position, now I can easily bench 150kg for reps, don't give up and don't feel ashamed for taking that first step most people will never take their entire lives.
Baby steps until you're ready to leap ahead, believe in yourself and keep moving ahead with discipline and determination
