been working out for a while, body look fairly good, my waist is actually small but my fucking hips just tear apart everything at a glance.

Wide hips are hardly the problem, and working your lats will only cover up the base issue. You have a shit middle back and collapse your ribs. That freakish curve-in on his waist is due to him having extremely shit serratus, rhomboids, entire posterior chain really, and not flaring your ribs during lifts. Your obliques are supposed to set in the base of your rib cage, not run up it like a fucking hunchback.

Stand up straight, it'll probably make your middle and lower back sore, rotate your pelvis to a neutral position, and breathe deep, unless you have a severe muscular or nervous problem, your ribs should naturally flare. Now once they're expanded, hold them like that and breathe through your diaphragm. It's probably going to hurt your back at first but that's because you have absolutely garbage connections. Do that while lifting, do that while walking, and sleep on your fucking back.

Holy fuck DO NOT FLARE YOUR RIBS! It is a sign of weak stability in your core! If you flare your ribs while loaded with weight such as an over head press you will compress the shit out of your lumbar spine. Just do lats and shoulders like a normal fucking person.
