me, but I enjoy when my friends try to explain concepts to me, although my friends aren't fanatics or subscribers of any hard ideologies so it's a nice experience.

I feel like I could easily be patriotic if I had a reason to be.

Everyone does to some degree. For example I don't care about 99% of politics BUT I care about my neetbux so I vote only for parties that support taxing the shit out of wagies and giving money to neets.

Following politics too frequently makes me less happy than normal. It just leaves you bitter

It matters to everyone. The fact that you don't realize how right now does not mean you are exempt from the effects of politics.

One day, you'll wish you took an interest in your local politics.

Its hard not to. It concerns all of us unless you move out of country but then you have to deal with their political bullshit too.

i don't care about politics and i'm completely sick of it, especially on here. i dont know how boring you have to be to give a shit about this fucking garbage. you're just complaining about bullshit that you can't change, it's like a boomer sitcom character screaming at a television set. that's really all it is at this point, a distraction and entertainment.

I thought so. I do vote but I'm a meme voter so I'm sure you hate me.

politics is for the rich, we folks are to stupid too vote. we should be like china where the government does anything and we dont care as long as we can live decent lives

people get so insanely butthurt when i tell them i don't care about politics but they never have any valid reason as to why i should actually care, nor do they themselves have any real grasp or understanding of actual politics and political history

sure, i'd be interested in politics if it didn't consist of tweeting how much you hate blacks/whites and voting solely based on who will "further" your place in the world - which they won't - because politics doesn't do shit anymore in america because there are too many opposing gears grinding the legislative process to a halt

this, my country is a piece of shit rotten to the core and it's nothing but a place for corrupt shitheads to rule over stupid sheeplets.

Exactly. You can't be disappointed if you have no expectations. Most people now get their news from TV shows and Twitter.

Im just so sick and tired of hearing about politics
>be in /vg/ discord
>the mods and a few other fags always bring up politics no matter what.
>got so bad it had to have it's own section
>thinking it's over, head to VC
>hey about those politics *mumble mumble*
>leaves
shits gay

this
>tell people I don't care about politics
>"so you are an anarchist then?"
>"no, I just don't care about politics"
>"OKAY BUT WHAT IF PEDOPHILIA WERE TO GO LEGAL TOMORROW? YOU'D CARE ABOUT THAT RIGHT? SO YOU ARE A POLITICAL PERSON AS WELL"
fucking normos

i'm too poor for to give a shit

it's like an ant caring about what the lions are up to

every election nothing changes, things get a tiny bit more expensive, people get a tiny bit more insane, repeat forever

I honestly think that "politics" is just a scripted show that the people in power use to keep the masses distracted. So yeah.. I don't care to get involved with that.

thats exactly what it is. its just a tv show.

I care about politics but the political system has so many flaws. It is a fucking joke. Nothing but a popularity contest. Politicians change their values all the time to appeal to the voters. Voters are idiots who fall for it every time. Democracy was a mistake. If you want real change you have to start a revolution.

Refute the argument of not caring because your vote won't do shit. You cannot. Your vote literally does nothing because it comes down to the electoral college, internal proceedings you'll never come close to affecting, and other shady industrial/political machines. Politics are as fucking useless to waste your time on as watching anime and sports.

>tell people I don't care about politics
>"so you are an anarchist then?"
This doesn't even make sense. Anarchists are some of the most politically-active people I've met.

I'm blackpilled on politics, it's all run by the same group of (((elites))) who are the same people who control the media and the companies that sell you rubbish, so if you're voting for any of the big parties it doesn't matter because they're exactly the same and don't give a single shit about you. Politicians are there to make money for themselves and their masters and usually fuck over the countrymen. I vote for small far right parties for the lulz when the time comes.

I know that my vote is inconsequential and it basically doesn't matter if I don't participate in civics or contribute to society in any way because millions of other people will. I will pay attention to politics anyway because it is sometimes hilarious.

This country has lost its. We are no longer pioneers in this great frontier. All that is left is greed, money, and corruption.

Ignorance is bliss.

>because it is sometimes hilarious
it really isnt, its worse than a seth rogen stoner comedy

At least watching anime and sports can teach you something optimistic and practical. What real life lessons does politics even teach you? For example, you can't change the outcome of a sports game, but you can still learn things from there that are applicable to your own life. Like for me, the reasons why I'm really calm in tense and important situations and have been fairly successful in life are in part due to philosophies I learned from watching baseball: things like think small and big things will happen, or when you get in a tense situation, slow things down, stick to your game plan, don't beat yourself, and be confident in the work you put in to your craft. All I can think of from modern politics is "politicians are conniving" and "the theory is much different in practice" but you can learn about people from studying psychology and sociology, and actually have the chance to use your love of people to really help them, without having to be some super extrovert. Politics is the only discipline I know of where you will always become a more cynical person upon learning it. Cynicism doesn't pay and its depressing.

Politicsfags have as much power as I do despite being so invested, and I can on a whim vote for a candidate because he likes my favorite baseball team (Trump). That must drive them up a wall. Furthermore, politics is literally the only, THE ONLY, field out there where you HAVE to be some super outgoing, super charismatic, and more than likely fairly attractive extrovert in order to even get started getting into it. In every other field, you really only need to be not offensively socially awkward and be able to work as part of a team. It's a discipline by and for extroverts, which is why it baffles me so much when people on here, who are mostly introverts, actually get into it.It's literally the most hostile, unfriendly, and unaccomodating field they could learn, and yet they still choose to do so.

I care maybe 10% of what I used to

It's too draining, makes me unreasonably angry at times, I can't do anything about it anyways.

What's my tool to effect change, I vote once every 4 years? And if the people I don't like win, I just deal with it? Whatever

replace anarchists with MUH CENTERISTS!
y..you're a fenceshitter huh. that Happens way more,

The only people actually into politics are those that are very involved with the parties and movements

I'm not into politics because I love a good rant about the president or how the system is shit or how sheeple from the left/right just doesn't get it or whatever.

It's not that I think it doesn't matter to me. It's that it's painfully obvious that I have absolutely no power or influence on anything that does matter, and that no matter what I do, ultimately it's going to come down to a choice between "would you like to vote to get fucked up the ass with a cactus" and "...but we'll dunk the cactus in lube first."

and even they're inconvenienced because there will always be an inherent bias in their sources despite their best desperate efforts to avoid them and their insults against other people who use different sources, since they have to use some sort of media or third party to get their info or the truth unless they're in the politicians' inner circle. And once they're there, they literally can't fight for whatever objective truth there is because they're around people who can completely ruin their lives in a matter of days. It's impossible to find the real truth, and once you do, you can't even spread it to others.

as someone working on a family business all I can say is GOD BLESS CAPITALISM

>it simply doesn't matter to you?
It is inevitable that it starts to matter to you before long.
Or we would not have all those gays running rampant on this board or look at wholesale SJW propaganda in our media all day.

I am not into it because there is little hope of change anything, that is all.

there are plenty of us, in the u.s at least. only 60% of 18+ voted in 2016, less than half vote in mid terms. there are plenty of people who just dont give a fuck.

I always monitor politics because I'm one of the people who has to watch out for politicians making sweeping decisions that affect my whole life.

and you have to take into consideration how many of those voters even are really really serious about it; like how many people do it just because their friends did it, because they found one of the candidates hot, or because one of them said something funny one time?

i think the people who actually give a shit has to be less than 20%

"Not caring about politics" isn't being apolitical. It's supporting the status quo; supporting the dominant political and economic ideologies.

If you "don't care about politics," you're just a liberal who lives in a situation where you don't have to care about politics.

me, its kinda hard to run away from politics talk since my countrys in shambles but ive never really given a shit about it regardless, even now that the gvt is actively ruining my life

you should understand politics at least. not following it is fine. but if youre making a virtue of being ignorant, you should get off Jow Forums and pay more attention in your american govt class

annoying retards like this is why i just cannot stand anything about politics, it's like a brain parasite that hijacks your thinking process and turns it into this pathetic faggotry.

Gotta take one for the team chief.

Shits scary man. Truly a worldwide cult.

I won't be party to something immoral because other people hold an opinion that it's good or useful.

>watching anime and sports.
I've learned more from anime than school. Outside of math, I could not do my homework and instead watch some of the shows at the time I binged and I got out high school just fine.

Welcome to the American education system. I literally fell asleep in class and or wrote/read things unrelated to the subject and still got out.

I don't actually care or have any opinions but sometimes I argue out of boredom and like of arguing. I argue each side just as easily too so it makes it seem like most of it is pointless
