The thing with a room as small as that van is the ease of keeping it warm. Decent blankets make a bed comfy in an unheated van in freezing temperatures, as well. This van looks like it probably has insulation, but it doesn't really matter apart from long-term maintenance concerns over rust or mold caused by condensation if it's lived in longterm. Especially if it's a diesel van, it's hardly expensive to keep it idling whenever you want it warm, many fulltimers buy an exterior-mounted gas heater that can run all day long for a couple bucks' fuel.

The shitting issue is bigger, fulltimers who aren't retarded usually have a gym membership for showers and shitting. You can do it with an expensive retrofit, or you can do it poorfag with a bucket and a bottle of water, but both of those things are retarded unless you're really going innawoods in which case you're camping anyway. Go to the gym every day, shower every day because in such a small room the smell gets bad real fast, shit every day at the gym too. Work out at the gym too, it's more important to keep your body healthy if you're living in a truck/van than in a house because Jow Forums people smell better - it's not a gay Jow Forums meme, if you get fat you will start to smell bad.

The biggest problem I experienced was keeping my truck clean, when I was living in it. I worked construction, and so it really was a big deal to make sure that I changed clothes (usually in the driver's seat if in a populated area and not innawoods) before hopping in the back/sleeping area.

You'd want a longer van than some for sure, but height really isn't that big a deal. Unless you're very short and the van is very tall (girl in OP's pic can't be much more than 5', and I can see that the rear ceiling looks like it's been raised almost a foot higher than cab ceiling.
I'm only 5'9, but I lived in a stock 4runner and never felt cramped - the thing is, you can't use it like you'd use a house. It's key to do as many things outside as possible, and inside is mostly for sleeping or reclining in bed while mobile shitposting.

Still, though. It definitely would have been far easier if I was a tiny girl. I met one woman who couldn't have been more than 5'1 who lived in her Ford Bronco, and she was able to lie flat on the rear bench seat which must have made setup/takedown of the sleeping area far easier.

My point still stands though, if you can't stand upright in a van I wouldn't say it's a huge hardship to living in it unless you're trying to live the same way you would in a concrete-foundation home.

Personally, I had a way harder time with summer nights than winter because if it's too cold I can just throw on another blanket but if it's too hot then all I can do is go fuck myself.
