It's been almost a year since I've hosted one of these, but it's always a lot of fun, just join us

How to play:
>Just pick a country tripcode yourself ("Country Name#somepassword" instead of Anonymous when posting).

>You've got two actions per turn:
>Logistic Action (Build defenses, mass infantry conscription, build armor division, research new techs etc.)
>Tactical Action (Move troops, attack, espionage, sabortage, send volunteers / reinforcements etc.)

>Talking to other factions and trading, declaring peace/war, guaranteeing independence doesn't use up any action

>GM will then write a summary of what happened this turn every 15 minutes (combat, research and espionage results are based on weighted D20 rolls, see FAQ)
>Trips are ultra critical success
>GM keeps track of all your policies, military strength, built units/defenses and research

Back Story:
>This is loosely based on "Red Alert". Einstein went back in time and removed Hitler from the timeline, then vanished himself. World War 2 never happened... yet.
>Soviet Union is communist, Britain and US are capitalist / pro freedom. Every other country can be fully customized, I'll even take Fash, Imperial, Royal or even crazier forms of government

>How important is it that I read all of this:
Not really important at all, just don't order more than one Logistic Action and one Tactical Action per turn and you basically can't do anything wrong.

>How long does one round take?
I'll try to post a summary every 5-15 minutes, depending on the playercount and complexity of the actions.
One Round translates to 3 Months in real time

>Why did my attack fail:
For actions that have a risk attached, I estimate a difficulty (e.g. US invades Algerian coast: easy, only need to roll at least a 5 to be successful) and then roll a D20 irl.
So either you got unlucky or the action was just extremely difficult. Maybe the difficulty was impossible (e.g. Algeria invades US coast) so I didn't bother rolling and just deleted your troops because you're a moron.

>What are examples for Logistic Actions:
"Build Anti Air defenses in Berlin"

>Why the alternative reality shit instead of Historic WW2:
I've played a historic WW2 Jow Forums conquest map last year on r9k, it was fun and all, but I need some variety. Many events were extremely close to the actual WW2 and therefore weren't very exciting. E.g. no matter what the german player did, D-Day could not have been avoided.
Also I think it's more fun for players to start with normal WW2 technology and then advance to weaponized Tesla Coils etc.

Bored people peak at Jow Forums. People go to QST for specific threads, not to find new ones. I also noticed people are quite happy here to find posts that aren't trannybait or depression fagging.
Jow Forums's rules allow pretty much any kind of posts, this isn't an official tranny board (yet). Robots are also the most comfy people when it comes to RP threads.

Looks like an uprising happened in X, declaring their independence from Y, and you're the new leader of X (unless Y is controlled by another player!)

Researching Jet Fighters requires a turn or a few logistic actions. Building one Division/Unit takes another logistic action.

Anything really. The D20 roll determines how much progress you make. I will then announce the progress you made or what rewards you'll get.
Just note that research should be somewhat balanced. I'm not gonna give anyone Plasma Weapons or Mind Control in 45 because they rolled high.
You can be creative though, this is "Red Alert" like. Weaponized Tesla Coils, Attack-Dolphins, Cloaked Tanks, Chemical Desolation Troopers and walking Mechs is stuff you can expect in the mid to late game.
Give your nation a bit of your own custom style by researching interesting technologies. Historic ones first, then reasonable ones, then you can go into the crazy territory

Here's and example:
"Germany finished it's research on Cruise Missiles. They now have the option to build Aggregat-4 missiles that can take out enemy defenses from afar and aren't vulnerable to traditional anti air defense"
or
"Russia finished it's research on Tesla coils. They now have access to more effective power plants to boost their industry, but scientists say this is only scratching the surface. More research could result in weaponization of this tech"

Greece and Turkey put aside their past conflicts and form an alliance of mediteran states. Greece mentions they're concerned about the red menace taking eastern europe at some point.

Logistical: Begin research into early-tier jet fighters (so MiG-9 likely)
Tactical: Demand Estonia sign a "mutual assistance treaty" with us, giving us access to their country, effectively annexing them.

Rhodesian military specialists come up with a new form of military infantry unit: Rangers. Rangers counter Infantry in Jungle environments and are great for Guerilla Operations (raiding convoys, surprise attacks, flaking units.)
Infiltrators sucessfully provoke white protests against the black government, but these protests are violently crushed.

The Soviet union builds their first Jet Fighter. The first prototypes exploded when landing was attempted. Pilots still don't trust these planes 100%
Building/researching is logistic, but I'll let you do military maneuvers which boost your airforce for a few turns.
Negotiations with the UK are difficult but it seems there's popular support in NI to join Ireland. Some terror attacks against UK offices happen.

UK Denies Monetary aid due to having their own issues.
Some Botswanian Territories were conquered in a surprise war by the South African military.

Estonia gives in and essentially declares itself a puppet of the Union in fear of conquest.
It is now Summer 1945, a very beautiful summer. Race conflicts in Africa seem to escalate soon and the Reds advance towards the west.

A surprisingly well armed uprising takes place in Northern Ireland. The local governments are replaced by pro-Irish politicians. Northern Ireland joins Ireland, the UK is not amused. Navy is patrolling the irish channel and near the isle of man.

Defenses are being built. Conscriptions increase (new infantry units available), but the South African government is about to run out of infantry equipment and weapons.

Bulgaria and Romania are happy to join as long as that means they're being protected in case the Red Army invades their homelands.
Anti Islamist raids are successful, a terrorist attack in Ankara was prevented. A stash of weapons was seized, officials are not sure where these terrorists got these weapons from, probably from some outside force. They demand more resources to investigate.

Republican Germany denounces the Soviets and demands to stop aggression. Lativa does not want to join the Union or become a puppet state. Spies report they're arming civilians at the border. Jets finally start being mass produced without any major issues. Jet fighters are a strong counter against Interwar Fighters and Bombers.

The Rhodesian army continues to grow. Anti-Black Propaganda seems to spread very well in the US.

It's now Winter in early 1946:
Fascist Italy is starting to invade Ethopia, and they're quite successful at it. They also denounce the black government in Mosambique.
The Botswanan Military launches a full scale counter attack to retake their territories. South African Defensive positions hold and Botswana takes heavy losses.
Republican Germany builds up heavy defenses in East Prussia, despite the USSR assuring they don't mean any harm.
The newly elected president of the United States is the most right leaning President in american history. The new scientific projects regarding advanced electricity aren't exactly successful yet, scientists say they need more resources or more time.
The south african economy peaks and military equipment is no longer rare. A plot from an unknown country was discovered to motivate slaves to take weapons from facilities and use them against high value targets. Foreign agents weren't captured though and could not be interrogated.
The Soviet Union develops a new main battle tank. The design and development of the T-54 went extremely smooth (nat 20) and a whole battalion is already ready for deployment.
The Soviet campaign to increase popularity doesn't seem to affect neighboring countries much.
It looks like the weapons were delivered by Saudia Arabia. It appears as if they're funding radical islamist groups not only in turkey but the entire middle east. Conscription numbers rise and the foreign threat motivates the population to support the new Turkish Technocracy.

Paraguay was annexed by Uruguay in a surprise war. Argentinia denounces the attack, since Uruguayan troops moved through their territory.
Tesla's secrets uncover a way to transport electricity wirelessly through air without loosing much energy. Many landlines are upgraded to tesla coils, which are more effective and rarely affected by weather, earthquakes etc. Military useage is still not discovered, though the new technology boosts economy and productivity.
Irish discover an engine that allows them to produce silent submarines, which can stay underwater for longer than their interwar subs and move without being detected by most sonars.
UK owns Newfoundland.
Ireland recieves military aid from the United States.
The sneak attack was successful. The capital was annexed quickly and troops which were prepared to be attacked from the north are encircled and surrendered.
Turkey can now build mobile rocket artillery (Similar to russian katyushas)
Saudi Arabia denies involvement in terrorist activity despite evidence. They claim they're ready to retaliate if they're attacked. Some Wahabi Priests declare a fatwa against turkish Technocrats.

Irish spies detect a huge amount of navy at the western coast, aswell as some coastal defenses which have been constructed recently.
A turkish scientist discovers the theory of relativity. He theorizes this technology can be used to create "nuclear nukes" at some point in the future.

Iraq and Syria are not pleased, as islamic influence is on the rise there. They don't want to allow the turkish Kafir to attack their saudi friends.
Rhodesia develops the first fully automatic rifle: The Rhodesia FAL46. Not all troops have been equipped with it though.
Mosambique forces are crushed, though Rhodesia also lost an entire Infantry division. Mosambique is eventually annexed by Rhodesia.
Just like the turks, US scientists are struggling to research the principle of nuclear fission (since Einstein was erased from history you know) and are only researching basic formulas. American scientists, who are quite experienced with electric technology theorize that nuclear fission can eventually be used to produce electricity, but that still needs more research before prototype reactors can be built.
USSR launches a first probe out the Stratosphere. It doesn't fully orbit the Earth though and burns up over the pacific. Scientists are still happy with how it turned out, it's better than they expected.
Czechoslovakia moves further to the Union. Pro Communist activists in the czech government often send secret information to the Union.
Argentinia builds up a massive amount of troops at their borders and does not bow to the threats of Uruguay.

Tactical: Send letters to the leaders of America, Ireland, and South Africa, asking to organize a summit so we can create a right wing treaty organization.

Tactical: The USSR must not fall behind on nuclear technology! It is a threat to our security! Gather up the best from our universities, and have them work on the theory and potential applications of nuclear sciences!
Logistical: As much as we are displeased by the Turkish alliance, we share a common displeasure in radical islamists. They are a threat we wish to not end up in our borders.To counteract this, we shall send funding to Secular Arab Socialist Ba'ath parties to arab countries in the region, and offer to aid them with small arms in creating militia groups for the purpose of stopping terrorism.

well it's not that massive, map is stretched, but yeah it's a lot bigger than Uruguay.
Water supply sabortage works well in border regions, but agents weren't able to poison them in central argentinia. Argentinian officials suspect that Uruguay is behind these happenings.

American scientists develop a prototype of something they call the "Tesla Tank". It's an anti armor tank that shoots lightning arcs at short distances and can incinerate electric systems and stored ammunition behind heavy armor. It's still in prototype phase though, they suggest to invest into longer ranges, or into making that weapon platform portable for infantry.
South Africa can now build White Phosphorus Mortar Teams.
Angolan politicians panic, don't respond to threats at first but make contact with the Soviet Union and ask them to gurantee their independence or intervene in the ethno-nationalist conflict in southern africa. (not a new round yet, gimme some time)
