I love classic 80's rock, it's so nostalgic to me, my dad and I used to listen to it so much, it's all he would listen to, and it rubbed off on me, so whenever I'm feeling nostalgic or down in the dumps, I just throw on a playlist.

Tong poo is used in a ton of places... you'll come to realize when you get enough experience listening to music that EVERYTHING IS "INSPIRED".

Composing is all about ripping off things you've heard and re-assembling them into a new format. That's what creativity is. When people talk about "original content" they're not talking fresh stuff made from nothing. They mean the crazy photoshop jizz we make in five minutes. That's not quite as involved as creating a drawing from scratch... since it's a different level of creation by melding and warping existing parts.

The fact is though even the artist who starts with nothing but a blank canvas will only produce images they've seen before... it is simply impossible to create anything "outside the scope of reality"... If as an artist you go searching for that, you'll find yourself lost amongst the chaos on a sad lonely road through the absolute void of space, nil, null, void, zero... eternal darkness where you no longer even have any means to identify whether you yourself exist or not.

"I think therefore I am", well no. You are, therefore you are is just circular reasoning. The universe is more complex than just that!
