Play poker

>play poker
>always win a lot at first
>then start losing
>keep raising bets to get back what you lost
>just gambled all my money again to nothing

I feel so empty like what now? I don't see the point of doing anything anymore. Life sucks

Don't gamble until you're retired

You probably get too cocky after winning a lot and easier to read.

Why don't you just leave when you start losing if you know it's always the same thing happening everytime

Forgot to get rid of my tripcode from a different thread whoops

Have a planned bankroll.

>Be casino
>Some smuck keeps on draining his wallet every time he comes in
>Tell dealers to give him a few easy wins so he can repeatedly loose it all and profit us.

I lost 10$ at a casino years ago and I've never stepped foot in one again. I also hate how crowded they are, made me feel like a cow in a slaughter line.

Take the money you would have lost playing and get a Cardrunners or other training site membership. It's more than worth it.

lost 13,000 this way user.

I'm good at poker too, I chased it though, I was sitting down at 1000 tables, lose it in one hand, rage credit another grand.

I'm still paying it off, fighting every urge to gamble

That isn't true whatsoever. If you're talking blackjack, majority of casinos nowadays use automatic shufflers that are cut by the player then the dealer to prevent either parties cheating. The dealer has no part or say in their luck, sans a misdeal/error. They are literally just the messenger. Most dealers are on the table for an hour, or hour twenty, then get tapped out by the relief. It is always coincidence you're doing well then all of a sudden the "cooler" comes in and you start losing due to the card being burned from the dealer tapping in. In the casino business there is also a thing called "the early out list" in which you can put your name on a list first come first serve to get out of work early if there are extra dealers to take you out. Again, this is where you think the "cooler" comes in. Pit bosses can and do, send another dealer to a table to maintain string order in what they call a "push" in the string of relief. This is why you think they are just sending the murderer to your table when other factors are in play.
Poker on the other hand can be different. When pitching cards, a dealer can intentionally pitch the card to flip it over, resulting them to give the person another card. This can screw over their initial hand and reveal information to other players, such as 1 less ace or king in play. This is usually done when the person is a total asshole or schmuck, but flips happen accidentally. Or when a dealer is holding the deck (the stub) can flash the top card. It is all random luck of the draw and the dealer in vast majority of the games has no influence over it whatsoever.
Have a set amount you of money to go into the casino with, money that is EXTRA after all expenses are paid in your life and you can deal with and EXPECT to lose. You cannot expect to go into a casino and win. A casino is a business built on losers, not winners.
> t. Dealer

You all suck at poker and it takes a fuckton of work to become competent, just like in chess. Except that there's enough randomness that people take forever or never even realize it.

zero sum game lad

So, you're autistic. Nice. Don't know what that has to do with OP.

>never gambled before
>buy dragon quest 11
>has a casino so I tried it out
>sidequest requires me to get a jackpot
>takes over 50 spins to finally get it
>already disgusted by the thought of gambling now

Glad that game showed me how evil gambling is. I know I'll never EVER waste my money on gambling now.

It has to do with OP because people think they lose because they keep playing or because they play the wrong stakes or whatever when in reality they're just bad and are experiencing randomness

does it pay well? i've been fantasizing with the idea of becoming one for a while

Gotta learn to quit while your ahead, my dude.

Depends on your casino and how many dealers are working that day. All the dealers split "tokes" (tips) with everyone across a 24 hour period. My casino averages 16-24 dollars on the toke rate and a base pay of 4.75, which averages to 22 an hour. The days fluxuate, with friday and especially Saturday, and Sunday and big money days. Around 200 or so dealers on a weekend. Compare this to another casino 45 mins away with a shitload of dealers and tables that never close, their toke rate averages only 12 bucks with the 4 base. Then 2 hours away is a casino where they average 30+ an hour, but has a much much smaller staff and requires all 4 core games (blackjack, poker, dice, and roulette) to work there.
It is the funnest and easiest job I ever had, and you don't even need to be a people person to accomplish the job, because the job itself is autistic working with numbers all day. But if you can at least mind your manners and smile you will be just fine. I highly recommend it, especially as a young shy person the job exploded me out of my shell and am much more outgoing compared to the 2 years before I started working. Look into the nearest casino near you where they will offer a blackjack class! Good luck user!

thank you, might actually bring myself to do it

Have this problem too sometimes. When you have the chip lead, its easier to keep making more. The moment you lose momentum, or feel it slowing, get out. Restart with minimum balance

Bonus points to add:
I work the graveyard shift 4am-noon. You can imagine how many people are playing at this hour.. the majority of my days I make 20 bucks an hour standing at a dead table, while the cucks on day shift and swing do all the hard work for me.
You will make a shitload of dosh dealing poker as most casinos allow poker dealers to keep their own tips. I don't work at a casino that keeps poker tips, but I have friends who work 3 days a week and make easily 700 a WEEK, but that game requires you to be have a strong personality and maintain control over bitter retired men and absolute fuckheads because it is a 9 or 10 person game and if you can't direct action or simmer a table down the players will run all over you and your day (and paycheck) will be ruined.
You play a fucking game for a living! Can't stress how fun the job is the majority of the time, but you also need to understand the sick disease of gambling and you will see some of the worst come out of people, but it's nothing 4chins in general hasn't prepared you for!
Most blackjack classes are free* (depending on state you must apply for a state gaming license which upon completion they take out of your paycheck) and the class only last 5 weeks, 5 hour days, 4 days a week.
If this seems interesting in the slightest bit please give it a shot it changed my life for the better!

Not me, I told him to get a Cardrunners membership. I played 4-10 hours a day every day for two years to get good. When I wasn't playing, I was studying, reviewing hands, etc. This is indeed the only way to get good. Some people, though, I'm sure are natural talents and can skip ahead faster than others.

I lost a lot this way too. It was a real wake up call. Like, now I realize I'm a fucking idiot and I deserve everything I got (which was nothing anyway). So now I'm just thinking of ways to die. Tonight it's going to be raining so I'll see if I can get struck by lightning first. We'll see what happens.

There are people out there that have lost everything 3 times over. You know the comedian Norm MacDonald? Dude was a multi-millionaire celebrity. He lost everything not once, but at least twice, to poker and sports betting. Gambling is for suckers. The house always wins in the end. I'm glad you got over it. There are so, so many stories like that out there. There was an intern on Howard Stern in the '90s who told a story on air about how he got kicked out of college for gambling away his parents tuition money. It's the same story over and over again.
