Trim with scissors before shaving with a manual blade. Grabbing clumps of it when you make a clean cut will help you to discreetly deposit it (Just wrap it up in tissue and put it the bin, the shorter hair from shaving should wash down the drain easily). Lots of shaving cream will also help.
Expect it to be itchy after shaving, especially if you're doing it for the first time. There's a lot of guides on the internet describing how to best reduce inflammation/irritation. I really recommend you read a couple of begginer's guides or watching a tutorial before getting stuck in
Also hair removal cream works best imo (in terms of convience and reducing inflammation), but I guess it depends on what you have access to and such
