well the practical reason was to organize my significant amount of computer equipment and the non-practical reason was to LARP as a sysadmin despite no longer working in IT. From the top down:

>drawer, holds crap like tape, screws, a thing of DVD-Rs...

>router, which was at the time an old uATX board with an Intel dual-gigabit NIC running pfSense
>old C2D machine I built mostly because I could, ran some random services
>gaming machine, then a Skylake i5, now a Ryzen 2600. Dual boot.

I've since rearranged the monitors, and I split out my storage into a separate NAS machine, and did some other stuff. My bed isn't in here, it's the smaller of the two bedrooms in my cheap condo, and yes all this junk is quite capable of making the room toasty hot.

Everything is neatly organized and you take advantage of boxes to cover certain items. I like it, it's an effective and mature use of space.

My little corner. Having everything within a chairspin's radius feels good, but my legs are so long that it's pretty clunky to actually use in that way. I have some other posters, and a bunch of figures/statues, but they're nothing special.

No, really, when you take a picture with a phone camera, it just saves it as-is and stores a little flag in the exif metadata saying "when viewing this image, rotate it by X". Why? Because that's faster on a slow phone CPU than actually doing a jpeg lossless rotate. Also easier for lazy mobile devs to code. For a long time, this wasn't much of an issue, but then too many people were getting doxxed because of anons in the know downloading images and peeking at the exif data. Which, for phone pics, also generally contains GPS coordinates. So now Jow Forums strips exif metadata from uploaded images, and that "rotate the image pls" flag goes in the bin with the rest of it. Except on /p/, where exif isn't stripped, and phone pics still appear right-side up.
