Post BMI

Just wanna see how the bots are doing weight wise. Weighed in today and I'm happy to say after losing about 10 lbs I am officially overweight and no longer obese. Obviously it's not the pinnacle of fitness, but it feels nice to no longer be one of the 40% of americans who are obese.

Isnt BMI kinda shit on account of the fact it just doesnt measure shit properly? Like a 200lb body builder thats 5'8 is considered overweight or whatever

I actually can't put on weight, I've tried for the past year to out on some weight and I've gained like 5 pounds

21. Working way up from other end from Auschwitz. Still pretty dyel but I'm getting there slowly but surely.

Glad you got into new category, bro. Hitting personal bests and milestones are very satisfying and rewarding. Wagmi

Most people aren't body builders, so no.

20. Technically normal but after I got it up from being underweight (~16) all the fat went to my ass which I hate so I kinda want to lose some again.

I have a BMI of just over 16, I've been a skeleton all my life.

For most people who don't have massive amounts of muscle or some reason why their weight would be high without fat, it's a pretty good indicator of your general physical fitness.
I don't think you could say that someone with a BMI of 24.5 is healthier than a 24.6 but as differences get larger it gets more apparent.
Also it's just something easy you can do as I don't expect a lot of people on Jow Forums to know or have the time/money/desire to have their body fat% measured.

It's taken a couple years, but I'm finally not underweight.

Attached: bmi.png (653x239, 10K)

honestly i still feel fat sometimes, but.

Attached: Screenshot from 2019-09-15 23:24:42.png (264x377, 24K)

I'm pretty fat but I have wide shoulders and a barrel chest so I wear it kind of well. I should probably try and lose 20 or 30 pounds but I can't be fucked. I'm okay with being fat and I like eating and drinking whatever I want.

Attached: bmi.jpg (214x350, 16K)

bmi is too lenient in many cases
when compared to more accurate body fat % measurements bmi is more likely to tell you you're fine when you should lose weight than the other way around

honestly just look in a mirror, and be honest with yourself, muscle is not the reason you're fat

I am obese, epic

>I should probably try and lose 20 or 30 pounds
more like 60 or 70 mate
with a moderate level of obesity like yours it won't be an obvious problem for a long time but it will come biting you in the ass once you get middle aged

I didn't expect to see so many skelly.

my family has a history of cardiovascular disease so maybe i'll die by the time I'm 40 if I don't kms first

Attached: tenor.gif (220x220, 1.16M)

if your family also has a history of extreme obesity like yours then it's entirely possible that that's the problem and not primary heart issues

>more like 60 or 70 mate
That sounds like so much work. When I said that I'm barrel chested, I mean my ribcage still kind of protrudes despite all the extra weight. I'm build a bit like this guy without having so much fat around the neck/face and my gut does't really hang like that. This might be a cope but I just don't feel like I'd want to make drastic changes to my life to lose that much weight. I have no health issues right now (other than being fat, I suppose) so maybe my mind will change if I have a health scare or something.

24.16

I've been lighter, but then again, I'm getting old, so who cares in the end.

grew up poor(only slightly less poor now) and now im just used to shitty eating habits . love when people say "wow your metabolism must be fast!!!"

Attached: bmi.png (673x317, 12K)

Damn you really are a skelly. Is this by choice or by chance? You don't sound very cuddly...

>I have no health issues right now
assuming you're in your 20s that's normal because your level of obesity is only moderate
if you're unlucky you might become prediabetic or gain hypertension even this young but generally you'll have to wait until your late 30s or 40s and if you're lucky until your 50s or 60s
any improvement is good though, don't get me wrong

those are literally the two biggest causes of heart disease
no amount of good genetics will protect you with a bmi of 44, let alone if you're a smoker as well
you should seriously consider gastric bypass because this is a level of obesity taht will drag you to an early grave and you wouldn't have gotten this big without a serious food addiction in which case any treatment other than surgery is unlikely to see much long term success

So uuuuh, anyone know when I'm gonna have a heart attack?

Attached: BMI.png (820x464, 73K)

obese people probably like to too thought right?

before 60 almost definitely, before 50 likely
this will be preceded by a metabolic syndrome diagnosis probably in your 30s

Good thing I've started losing holy fuck. Used to be 340, and I've dropped 20 so far.

height would be about 5'4 and weight about 103

Couldn't I just lose weight naturally by cutting down on calories and exercising

Attached: 1568098393477.jpg (500x442, 191K)

down to 180 lbs from 190, want to get to 140

You are definitely right. I know there's pretty much no good reason to be as fat as I am (other than being cuddly or looking intimidating). I'm sedentary, I love to drink beer, and I love to eat shitty food. I should make more of an effort to not be obese. I don't know about losing 70 pounds, but I should absolutely start with losing 10-20. Any weight loss is an improvement. I'm turning 21 in a few months so I'm still really young. There's time for me, and I should take advantage of that.

Attached: meatzza.jpg (457x450, 68K)

oh shit, I'm just about normal. I would work out, but I have no money for the extra food that i'd have to eat, and i am also lazy as fuck.

Attached: bmi.png (501x393, 32K)

>Couldn't I just lose weight naturally by cutting down on calories and exercising
in principle yes
in practice if you got to this point you probably have no self-control when it comes to food intake and will fail without outside intervention

>Couldn't I just lose weight naturally by cutting down on calories and exercising

I'm not a doctor (I think this advice user might be some sort of health professional or maybe just a Jow Forums lad) but I'm pretty sure that once your heart is filled with fat and plaque, you need the bypass even if you've lost tones of weight.

I'm dumb. I confused a gastric bypass with that one heart surgery. Excuse me.

>I'm not a doctor (I think this advice user might be some sort of health professional or maybe just a Jow Forums lad)
I'm not but mom is a doctor and deals with obesity related illnesses every day

27. I've lost 50 lbs over the past 6 or so months.

Interesting. I could tell you probably knew more about this sort of thing than most here, certainly more than I. Thanks for your advice, buddy.

24 and I want it to be under 20.

be careful though it's easy to sound smart by just authoritatively stating things like that
what I said is (essentially) correct but you'd be surprised how confidently morons state blatant misinformation

My parents always say I'm anorexic, but apparently I'm just barely normal.

Attached: bmi.png (642x537, 50K)

>technically healthy weight
I still feel fat, even if I'm at the bottom of healthy weight for my height. I really need to workout more.

i used to be 140lbs back when i was running 20-25 miles a week, but then a heel injury forced me to stop for about 5 months. gained like 30lbs from all the beer and junk food i consumed during that time, currently training my way back up and have burned off ~10lbs so far. feels great to see my body losing all that pudge

Attached: bmi.png (646x272, 12K)

23.8.. I'd like to get it to around 20 or so.

anyone have antyhing to say

Attached: 3d4b7a16cf84b6abefca5b13f15116f8.png (643x262, 12K)

Eh I guess this is about right always have been underweight.

Attached: bmi.png (759x429, 31K)

Fugggg

I'm so fat still, even though I was 155kg a year ago.

Attached: Screenshot_2019-09-15_20-56-46.png (310x465, 32K)

BMI definitely fucks me here.

I'm definitely still overweight, but I've been going to the gym for months and I'm toning up, but keep going up in weight instead of down.

I can bench 150 now (working against horrible atrophy and man-tits) and I'm squatting 320.

Attached: BMI.png (648x273, 11K)

21.6 but I lift.
Used to be 17.0 when I didn't.
I had a choice between trap and johnny bravo and I chose the latter.

I'm at 26.5, I'm consistently losing weight tho, goal is 23 or so

cute.
skeleton

I've gained 3kg of pure fat in the last month because of severe depression

Hello skellington brother

Attached: firefox_Lx49xnx11f.png (503x136, 8K)

Have lost about 90 lbs over the past 1.5 years. Have been overweight/obese a large portion of my life, largely due to never really looking at the nutrition/portion sizes of what I have been eating. That has been the main lifestyle change I've really adopted as a result of counting calories.

I can only afford to lose about 10-15 more pounds according to my body fat scale (assuming purely fat loss). It's likely not accurate, but it is consistent within itself. I need to start lifting again.

Attached: bmi.png (728x278, 10K)

Wish i was a bit heavier but I think i look fine.

Attached: BMii.png (649x266, 11K)

>5'9
>29.1
It's because of all my muscles, I swear

Attached: pepe sweat.gif (964x912, 1.08M)

>16.6
Fuck, I never thought I was particularly thin.

BMI is total bullshit. There are NFL linebackers who have 10% bodyfat and a 6 pack that would be considered obese by their BMI. get tested with calipers or get a scale that calculates your bodyfat percentage, but BMI is a totally useless metric.

>5'9"
>207 lbs

i'm obese by bmi, but i've been weightlifting at the gym every day for the past month and my muscles have all begun to get noticeably bigger and my weight hasn't changed. I still got some fat, but I'm not going to stray from my bearmode goals to chase some arbitrary BMI category.

BMI is only bullshit for people who actively work out. It is great for people are a lazy assholes which the majority of society is

i feel okay i guess

Attached: bmi.png (1041x371, 24K)

I ant get weight no matter what. Haven't tried multi-vitamineor protein suppliment, don't wanna do steroids.

BMI is retarded since it doesn't account for muscularity. According to BMI I'm overweight but a hydrostatic test logged me in at 17% bodyfat

Attached: bmi.jpg (512x419, 68K)

8% bf rn

femanon here.
my BMI is 25.5, slightly overweight. I'm 5'1 and 135lbs.
however, I used to be 170lbs and I cannot remember my BMI but it was very well over 30. feels good to have lost weight, and I'm still going. my goal is 125lbs.

congrats!! keep going, i believe in u :D

feels good desu. at my heaviest i was 260 lbs or so and my lightest was 145 after losing weight for a few years. trying to gain again and its great feeling some energy

Attached: Untitled.png (324x546, 35K)

23.4
183cm and 78.3kg.
I once weighed in at 103kg.
Weightwise i hit rock bottom. The road i took here broke me.

Does it really count as "overweight" if it's mostly muscle?

Attached: Capture.png (656x300, 8K)

I used to always be underweight but over the last 2 years I've gained a ton of weight. What sucks is I carry the weight very poorly. If I could just drop down to like 160-180 I'd be so happy

Attached: I'm a Fattass Now!.png (1133x472, 25K)

5'1 and 56 kg. Bmi 23.4. With History of diabetes so that smth

I live out in the sticks far away from the city any tips for dropping the weight? Like what sort of equipment should I buy for some decent workouts at home?

Yes, and it doesn't take into consideration the width of your frame. I am 5'9" 125lb but I don't look like a lanklet because I have such a narrow frame. Whereas my dad for example is like 75% wider than me even though he is the same height, so he would look like a lanklet at my weight.

>17.5
I tried to put weight on for a while but it didn't work so I stopped trying. My fat distribution looks weird when I get heavier anyway.

am i going to die early because of this?

Attached: pPVcZ4i.png (605x219, 10K)

Normal weight now after 3 months of switching my diet to Keto. Weighed 198 back at the beginning of June.
