I was in your shoes back when I was 18, busting my ass working part-time at McDonalds. The best decision I've ever made was to quit and jump at an opportunity to do document imaging while in college. The experience I gained from that job set me on the path to where I'm now a director of technology for a government agency, little over 12 years later.

Funny story, the guy who hired me to do the document imaging job was arrested a few years ago for performing oral sex on other men in a public park. He was in his late 60s and married.
