funny you should say that as that describes my stay in Tokyo to a T.
Used to walk for hours, STARS or MAZZY STAR playing in my earplugs, from Shinjuku or Shibuya or Roppongi on foot, up to the outskirts, until dusk, and see the city quietly light up for the night, absorbing the sights, the smells, office ladies coming out of work, walking back home, children in funny sailor suits walking in a queue towards somewhere, elderly shopkeepers closing up, food joints starting to get full with customers, then take the metoro back.
Or viceversa, coming back on foot after hours in the outskirts finally, as the sun set and Tokyo Tower lit up my way back.
That was more than 10 years ago now.. I was young back then, and full of life and dreams.
