Everytime I meet someone with autism or like aspergers at least, I always try making friends, I got diagnosed with it pretty young, and years of social skills lessons, and a lotta time living in a pub and just getting out and being social kinda helped me become like a sociable guy with some eccentricities, but mine was only mild, but I see all these people who never quite learnt the same as me, but I make time for anyone autistic, I understand it.

There's a spectrum of autism. There's the "I really like trains" autists, and then there are the severe autists who might not be able to use English or bang their heads against things. The former are relatable. The latter I only pity.

A lot of them are scared or at least nervous around men in my experience.

I have aspergers and I have never met a female with aspergers. I know of someone who claimed to have a diagnosis but she is larping imo. She is perfectly social, has friends, has good relationships, even romantic ones. I think she just got it to be that little extra uwu quirky (she got "diagnosed" with 18).

That or maybe she just has a very mild form, and knows how to mask around others.

Depends on the type of autism, high functioning people more towards what they used to call asperger's like I get along with great, they've got empathy for days if you are open and honest with them about what you're thinking and feeling. They just can't really put themsleves in your shoes on their own without lots of practice and direct information. Very high primitive emotional empathy, like markedly higher than the general non-autistic population sort of high, but significant deficits in cognitive empathy. They're awesome people with vivid imaginations and fascinating insights that they aren't afraid to share and occasionally are absolutely brilliant or deeply poetic and moving in the sort of non-linear outside the box thinking way that true geniuses also possess. The more analytical type of autist is less fun to be around but honesty often have a much more thorough and consistent intelligence, deeper but without the same brilliant peaks. That sort are just an entirely different breed of human and interactions can be draining sometimes. To some they might seem robotic but that's not actually it, they've just got a completely different operating system. Not bad people though nor devoid of feeling, just really difficult to understand.

I was diagnosed at 12 and was diagnosed with OCD and ADHD first, the tendency to like things to be the same and resist change, having weird habits and rituals, obessive interests and having difficulty focusing on and and retaining things that don't fall into those specific area of interest can initially appear to be different disorders at first glance and only with further observation and testing do you get to the real root of things. It was only after a conversation with my mom where she mentioned my late language development that it clicked for the doctors. Autism encompasses a wide range of symptoms and behaviors which can make things difficult. She might actually be an autist and just also a dumb cunt who doesn't realize that old tentative diagnosis while trying to figure shit out don't still hold weight. God knows autists aren't immue to special snowflake syndrome, just take a look over at wrongplanet if you need convincing of that.
