I wouldn't call it free money, it's just gonna come from massive reworking of the current welfare system, it's definitely doable though. It won't, our combined beaurocracy is too big that changing the system in any way is political suicide. But that's ok, once things get bad enough government will become a joke nobody takes seriously. I think companies should be the ones paying off the communities their automated factories are built. $1000 isn't that much and landlords will just raise our rents, whereas if companies are forced to pay us for automating our jobs it'll give us all the money we need and companies will have to think before bringing in the bots.
