I'm terrified of cockroaches, water bugs, and anything else that looks like them. At some point it's going to interfere with my social interactions.
What do I do to end this phobia. I know they can't hurt me or anything but when I see one, even in public, I will go as far out of my way as I can to avoid it and will sometimes straight up avoid places if I know that cockroaches are common.

Measured exposure. First look up images of them. Look at a bunch of them. Maybe put on some good music and have a nice snack while doing so. You want to be able to have a big roach image in front of you and have no ill effect from it.
Whenever you see one in real life, try hard to get closer to it. Test your boundaries and be brave. I'll get easier every time.
I did this with spiders. I'll never be as comfortable with them as other critters, but my arachnophobia is much more manageable now. I can calmly kill or brush them outside when I see them in my house, or even just leave them alone and carry on like normal.
Or you can just move to NorCal, I've seen like 3 roaches in 30 years here.
