honestly the metric system does seem weird for human-level stuff. Same with celsius. Just seems odd. 6' 2" is much easier to get a grasp of than... 188 cm. Or, 1 meter and 88 cm. That just seems weird. And with regards to temperature, you can go 5° up or down in fahrenheit and still be in the same degree in celcius sometimes. (maybe a bit exaggerated, but if it only moves one degree I think it still counts...)
it's just odd. I mean, of course I know how to use metric too, but it feels a bit too sterile, or something. Perfectly fine for science and math, but I think it's nice that we have more "human" measurements for everyday use.
