Thats your opinion mate. I dont care much for brutal doom, i think the mod author is a fucking prick, but the mod is well crafted. Doom 4 has issues but I thought it was an over all great game thats worthy of a sequel.

Brutal doom yes but i would argue Doom 4 is more of a modern take on classic doom rather then an evolution. It still has the same key elements in place. Explorable maps, keycard, big guns etc.

Glory kills last maybe 3 to 2 seconds. If they really bother you im pretty sure you can turn it off

No. Did you acutally play the game or did you just watch gameplay people posted on /v/? The levels are actual maps with arenas placed at different places. However the game still wants you to explore the large map.
