Quebec would have to make a choice by shouldering the financial burden of creating: a national police force, military, banking system, a national mint and reserve, etc. It would also have to repay its portion of the national debt to Canada (this would be difficult with a mass exodus of big businesses). As well, mini police states would have to be imposed to control the native and Anglo populations opposed to separation, mainly in and around Montreal.
Or it could become a subservient protectorate of the US.

Quebec could become a French protectorate, like Saint Pierre and Miquelon. The would have cheap hydro electric and control access to the St Lawrence Seaway unless the rest of Canada joined the US to blockade it. Trading cheap electric for basically everything else would be a losing proposition unless France subsidized everything.
I'd like to see them try it just to entertain the rest of us.
