Make most of it up. What I like to do is take a word from a language I know (English and some French) that's related to my new word's meaning, then altering it a lot to sound different enough. For example, the verb I made, avor (which means to have), is just the French verb avoir (which also means to have) without the i. Or how toht is just thought with an h and a a missing.
