Also does anyone know of a female mono RCA to stereo Male? Or mono RCA male to stereo RCA male?

i recently learned that vinyl doesn't have much channel separation compared to CD and this pissed me off

Yes but how does it sound.

I will tell you when it shows up in a week.

Aight.

How does one into audiophile?

Acquire money

Buy speakers. Go out into your backyard, pick up a few pebbles and tape them to your speakers.

>Auto
Actual audiophile? Go get an EE degree with a focus in signal analysis and radio frequency. An armchair audiophile? Throw money at Amazon and play big dick contests online.

nah, you only have to appreciate high fidelity
most gear can be found at discount used

Is there a middle-ground (read: free) option for learning?

Start with
xiph.org/video/vid2.shtml

Now you can save money by not buying into the 96 kHz / 24-bit meme.

Cool! Thanks for the recommendation.
Any other introductory texts/videos that anyone would recommend?

I top my kek to you, kind xir.

Have a pair of HVL-1s. Could anyone offer any upgrade suggestions? Thousand dollar range.

I've found that a 2.1 setup makes just about all music played on it sound wonderful. Except for nu Doom's shitty soundtrack.

Guys, it's Edifier worth the money for a newb?

they got okay reviews from consumer reports

Who's he?

What does the equalization mean on an audio cassette? I've heard chrome-oxide tapes and metal ones have 70 micro second equalization, whereas ferrite ones have 120. Someone told me in short that it means they can more easily capture higher frequencies, but I wasn't told exactly how it works.

Should I pull the trigger?
Will use them on a desk in a small room without a subwoofer until I move to a bigger place, so i need a set-up with decent bass that sounds good on a somewhat wide range of volumes.

Bought this during aliexpress anniversary to power my custom 6.5 inch bookshelf.

Hope it turns to be as good as the reviews said.

the amp on the left, used, will power two speakers with 100 wpc at higher current than the onkyo

these used amps are really inexpensive now -- the difference between the modern $800 version and the older version is the lack of HDMI in the older version

Copper clad aluminium.
So basically just fake copper.
>inb4 muh skin effect

Thank you. I thought I could find some good deals on older amps, but I had no idea what to look for. If you can give me some other suggestions (in case that amp isn't readily available in Germany) I would really appreciate it.

That's all I am basing my purchase on, sadly. I can't listen to them.

Copper clad aluminum. I'm not sure I made the right cable choice to be honest. If you think I should get something else, I'll look into it.
I don't need 50m, I'm retarded and didn't notice the length. It's just a desk set-up. Do I need banana plugs too?

You should be able to get a few meters of pure copper cable for that price.
Bananas are more for ease of use than quality, go for bare wire.

Found this. 166 till Monday, then back to 215, so I'll get it today. Thank you again, it's even cheaper than the Onkyo.

good find -- this unit should drive your mission speakers exuberantly, and if you ever add on new speakers, the unit will turn your set-up into 4.1 or 6.1

I personally only use ebay.de and ebay-kleinanzeigen.de
People here (in Germany, not Jow Forums) have suggested shpock as well

Yes. Thanks, I stopped being retarded and found one on amazon also. For some reason google didn't want to give me any valid results.

Anyone here has the Topping D30? Does the USB input work with Linux?

I'm really tempted to get it so I can connect my home server through it to my TP-21 amp.

Attached: 610DbYuYbIL._SL1000_.jpg (1000x1000, 107K)

Plini is great.
youtu.be/8tGYdI4oWas
Someone on headfi claims that it works on Linux.

It should work as long as it's using the usb-audio standard. Otherwise optical is a good choice for connecting a dac to a computer.

>Someone on headfi claims that it works on Linux.
Oh, you're right, that's good enough.

Yeah, I was thinking about optical, but if I use USB I could take out the audio card from my home server and use it for me desktop, where I'm using built-in audio.

I'm just wondering if a DAC makes sense if I'm going to then send the signal through a passive mixer(pic related).

If I buy the DAC in probably should also buy an active mixer.

Attached: Rolls_MX42_MX42_Mini_Stereo_Mixer_331962.jpg (500x500, 58K)

Have you checked if your server has a header for spdif for the integrated soundcard? Many motherboards does not have spdif connectors on the back but headers for a adapter like pic related.

Attached: mS2XKgNhlEmk4bzZuTGWrXA.jpg (225x225, 13K)

Holy shit son, thank you for posting this. I was trying to find a mixer for my desk but gave up a while ago. Though why do you think you'll need an active one? It's just passing the electric signal through I presume.

Ha, I haven't though of that. Let me get a mobo manual and check.

>Though why do you think you'll need an active one? It's just passing the electric signal through I presume.
Well, it does lower the signal strength. The more active inputs you have the lower the output is.
If I'm using only 2 inputs it's not bad, but if all 4 inputs are active the resulting signal is a bit weak, and my amp(TP-21) is really underpowered for my speakers.

Nope, unfortunately no such thing there. Looks like USB is my best bet.

Attached: mobo.png (1439x1808, 408K)

Wait, I think I'm stupid, isn't it that little thing in the bottom left corner?

You're right, I'm just blind. And I remember checking if my server mobo had optical and I didn't find it then. Maybe I was just checking on the back panel with not enough light.

hmmm

Attached: image.jpg (3264x2448, 1.02M)

Turn it down fool. Your sub doesn't need to be floor shaking. THe point of a sub is to take care of the low end and let the speakers take care of the rest.

All I see is sex hair

Might want to add a capacitor on both the tweeters and woofer on those sonys. I HAVE them too and it did wonders on the presence of the kick and sub bass on music.

is this for real

youtu.be/aMFFCE4rCSI
I wonder how this sounds IRL

thanks for the tip - i actually have read about the mod but i like the somewhat recessed sound of the sonys because it's less distracting - i turn on amp #2 for focused listening which powers the other speakers - it surprised me that the little sonys matched the other speakers so nicely

Those boxes aren't even close enough to being the proper size. Especially the stacks of 8

sounds kinky!

They are probably too small to give any real deep bass, but will probably give a very strong bass higher in the range.

Here's a guy who tried to solve the exact same problem with his car :D
Depends on where you stick it.
