Two screens, with pic related setup

It is the only winning move.

true statement

if only you were a creme

This is the worst setup possible

Three monitors bro
>Far left portrait for code
>Middle landscape for profiler and web info tabs I'll inevitably use
>Right landscape for application tests/developer program

I'm a game dev though so the third one isn't needed if you're just code

>he doesnt have his second screen on a versa arm mount.
fucking mini-cucks

>team literally the color of shit
>can't recognize genius when it's right in front of him

Are you telling me you DON'T want your two monitors to be as well-supported as possible? Arm mounts are a dead meme and everybody knows it.

>Arm mounts are a dead meme and everybody knows it.
Ahahahahahahahha

Enjoy your broken neck

The fuck.
A solid arm of metal is not as strong as a flimsy plastic stand...

The state of mini-penises

How to get cleartype to work on a vertical monitor?

What OS are you on?

win10

lol

Oh, that's unfortunate. I'm on W8.1 and it just werks.

You turned a tablet on it's side and called it a screen?

Secondary should be 10:16 or 3:4 aspect ratio.

>3:4
I can agree to this. Especially if you get a secondary that's the right height with your primary. That might even make for a good third now that I think about it.

Personally I've always found 3 screens overkill though. I don't have enough going on on my PC to require 3 screens that need monitoring.

What the fuck do you even need 3 monitors for? 2, totally, but 3? Why? How many things could you possibly need to see at once?

he literally explained why in his post

>Far left portrait for code
>Middle landscape for profiler and web info tabs I'll inevitably use
>Right landscape for application tests/developer program

>color of shit
If you shit that color you should check a doctor.

One for schematic, one for pcb, one for datasheets/docs.

3 monitor is better

Attached: 2018-04-01 13_10_33.jpg (3640x2722, 414K)

what do you use them for?

I use to have two and added a third in portrait exactly like this and it's great

Is that the lastest trend?

>there are people that have less than 4 monitors

Attached: Screenshot (780).jpg (9600x2160, 2.3M)

Speaking of monitors, I still can't convince myself to get an ultrawide monitor. Is 21:9 truly the future or just another dumb fad that'll come to pass?

bottom landscape = main workflow
top landscape = video watching while working ( wendell from level1techs etc)
portrait = document or monitoring software (vertical space is good for those kinds of use)

I may not use them all 24/7, but not having to alt+tab to switch back and forth between applications is a real quality of life improvement

more like the only winning move for eye damage
t. never been the same since that fateful day
don't play with your health kiddos, eye replacement tech is pretty far away

Circle screen mustard rays

yeah

Portrait for code, middle landscape for references, another landscape for porn, obviously.

>asymmetric displays
PLP is the one true way!

21:9 is latest meme. Advance with ratio as film does it, it's the safest bet. 16:9 is the only real option.

It's a nice idea, but only if you have two monitors of different sizes to help balance things out, for example left is 27" while right is 24", or left is 32"+ while right is 27".
If you just have two identical displays (double 27" for example) then it's better if you have them both in landscape.

fixed.

What about two landscpae mains stacked and two portrait secondarys bookending? Looking into that myself, so similar idea.

>16:9 portrait
Kill yourself

>not having the secondary near your primary hand
Lefty detected.

What asspick ratio is "round"?

II have that, except I also have my TV connected on a separate desk.

I'm actually thinking about doing this. Turning my "office" into an "entertainment office". I do have an available wall... Hmmm.

>tfw having this config
>tfw not lefty

I have my portrait monitor on the left, but I do agree that this combo is the best.

It's just the jews taking our height away again.

4:3 (16:12) > 16:10 > 16:9

this

Is this a Popotepipiku reference?

I think you mean poputepipikku.
t. uses MAL name as folder name and had to type it every week while the show aired

>tfw using two 1600x1200 displays in portrait for a 3:2 ratio.
It's annoying that one's Dell and the other's HP, but at least they use the same panel.

Attached: 1454363022950.png (173x196, 8K)

That sounds nice. I currently use two HP monitors that are 1920x1200. HP ZR24W. Got them cheap refurbished from Newegg and they're even IPS. Probably won't need to upgrade for a while.

pathetic monitorlets

Attached: 1522571829240.png (812x552, 3K)

But if your main screen was big enough to be the same size as your secondary screen is vertically, you would only need one monitor and wouldn't have empty gaps in your vision. THAT is the true master race.

21:9 is fantastic for gaming/movies, besides that, just get 16:9 as it's the most supported format.

I use this setup at work but with 4:3 screens.

>Not having 6 monitors on VESA and two machines for different specialist tasks

hmmm

Attached: g.png (873x671, 822K)

yeah but the vertical on is on the left side instead

two computer screens?! what a fucking nerd is he some hacker lol

I just did the deus ex computers meme setup.
As in, one big screen(4k tv) flanked by two portrait small screens. It werks.

Flat 16:9 Primary with Curved 21:9 Secondary is the superior form. I'm saving up for it.

You would be rightm if that vertical monitor were a 16:10.
16:9 looks so bad on vertical

What is this thing? I've seen other people have similar looking objects but I have no idea what they are.

Is it just a fancy pen holder?

Attached: ss (2018-04-01 at 01.41.45).jpg (92x165, 8K)

muh nigga

Oh boy, that's one off the old wacom's pen holders.
You can put the pen horizontally or vertically.

Five thousand hours in gimp, but you get the idea. Why settle for those two monitors when you could get one that covers a lot more? Monitor size and PPI is more important than aspect ratio.

Attached: master_race_fixed.png (1120x761, 3.26M)

Do you get to the top monitor by just moving your mouse up? I could never get used to that, I maximize my windows by dragging and slamming my mouse into the top of the screen.

Gross. I like my screen space being divided by multiple monitors. I need all my programs maximized in their own monitors.

Old pic, but love my similar setup. Will be changing it though once iMac Pro is delivered. Will have iMac in middle with one vertical monitors on each side.

Attached: battlestation.jpg (1800x1200, 1.08M)

Many window managers have some edge resistance as you drag windows towards the edge, so it is easier to work with windows the way you describe.

That sounds interesting, but I'd rather a system where you have to hold a button like Ctrl, Shift, or Alt to move between monitors. Otherwise your cursor sticks to the edges of it's current monitor.

>I need all my programs maximized in their own monitors.
You only need that because you don't have good window management.

this
32" 2560x1440 master race

I've tried 3 monitors before didn't make much use of it, eventually settled with that that exact setup.

One larger monitor is starting to sound better especially with a tiling window manager like i3. Even in the few cases where I have an application running full screen I rarely ever find myself in dire need to use the second monitor.
Only exception has been when running a VM with GPU passthrough to keep tabs on both guest and host simultaneously since switching monitor input regularly would get tedious fast.
There is a way to copy the frame buffer from GPU to the host OS and run it in a tile with a small performance penalty.

What monitor does Jow Forums use for their secondary, portrait monitor

LG 24EB23py
16:10 makes for the best portrait monitors.

>16:10

Why don't they just call it 8:5?

It makes the comparison to 16:9 more obvious, and is in everybody's marketing material anyway, so that's what you'll actually end up searching for.

Add a third monitor or tv to the right of the portrait monitor while using an L-shaped desk and it's perfect

OP is correct, though you should really have a larger landscape monitor with a portrait to the right with an equal height.
